    摘要: A method of forming a supported subterranean well bore in which, in one disclosed embodiment, a first drill bit is mounted on a first string of casing tubulars via a steerable tool, and the drill bit is used to form a first bore. Upon reaching the required depth the casing string is cemented in place to support the formed bore and a second drill bit is mounted on a second casing string and is inserted into the first casing string. The second drill bit is used to drill through the wall of the first casing string and proceed to form a second, deeper bore. Once the second drill bit has reached the required depth, the second casing string is cemented in place to support the second bore.

    摘要: A liner drilling system employs a bottom hole assembly that may be retrieved before reaching the total liner depth. The system includes an outer string made up of a liner and a profile nipple. An inner string including a running tool, drill pipe, and a drill lock tool are lowered into the outer string and rotationally and axially locked to the outer string. Drilling may be performed by rotating the inner string, which also rotates the outer string. The operator may retrieve the inner string by pulling the inner string and the liner upward until the upper end of the liner is located at the drilling rig floor. While supporting the liner at the drilling rig floor, the operator retrieves the inner string, then re-runs it back into the outer string.

    摘要: An apparatus for a drilling tool includes a pilot drilling bit, a reamer, and a pilot body which is disposed to support the reamer and the pilot drilling bit at the end of a casing tube. The reamer includes a closed position in which the parts of the tool are concentric with one another and displaceable through the casing tube, and an open position in which at least a part of the reamer is located radially outside the casing tube. The pilot body includes a male portion which extends through the reamer, the male portion of the pilot body forming a cam surface for transferring rotation energy to the reamer and for switching the reamer between the closed and open positions, and the male portion of the pilot body being insertable in a recess in the pilot drilling bit.
