    摘要: A method of forming print instructions in a host for rendering within a fixed amount of memory on a printer receives intermediate data comprising regions which are associated with drawing instructions. A first amount of memory available to render the intermediate data is calculated based on a second amount of memory needed by the printer to store the intermediate data. The host determines a subset of the drawing instructions as complex drawing instructions and renders the complex drawing instructions to the printer as simpler drawing instructions. For regions associated with the complex drawing instructions, the host reassociates the regions with the corresponding simpler drawing instructions to form altered intermediate data which can be rendered on the printer within the determined first amount of memory. The print instructions, including the altered intermediate print data, can then be rendered by the printer to pixel data within the fixed amount of memory.

    摘要: When an initial communication program is started, a handheld device searches for image forming apparatuses within its communicable range. Then, upon receiving a response of that inquiry from an image forming apparatus, the handheld device requests the image forming apparatus for an image-forming-apparatus control program for handheld devices according to a predetermined determination condition. The image forming apparatus then responds to the inquiry from the handheld device and sends to the handheld device the image-forming-apparatus control program for handheld devices that has been stored in a memory device. Upon receiving the image-forming-apparatus control program for handheld devices, the handheld device stores it in a memory unit, terminates the execution of the initial communication program, and executes the image-forming-apparatus control program for handheld devices.

    摘要: The present invention provides an image formation apparatus that reconstructs and prints a document based on document data written in a markup language. The image formation apparatus arranges, by using browser software, text data included in the document data within a page of the document, and acquires image data from servers and arranges the image data within the page of the document. If the image formation apparatus fails to acquire one or more pieces of the image data, it judges whether each of the pieces of image data is important or not according to the attribute information of the image data. If judged negatively, the image formation apparatus executes printing of the document reconstructed based on the text data and/or the acquired pieces of image data. If judged affirmatively, the image formation apparatus cancels the printing of the reconstructed document.

A font access level stores locations of activated base, localization and patch fonts and are referenced in an access order during character retrieval so as to apply retrieval priority to patches and localizations. A font storage level maintains multiple tier character indices for referencing character shape data in order to provide faster character searching through each of the multiple activated fonts than a single-level index.

    摘要: A method of performing a pattern fill operation of a pattern into a clipping region resolves the pattern into an intermediate format between a page description language and a page bit map. This intermediate format is cached. For each tiling of the pattern into the clipping region the pattern is clipped to the clipping region and rendered from the clipped intermediate format pattern into a corresponding location of a page bit map. The intermediate format of the pattern may be scan line runs and trapezoid fills. The intermediate format of the pattern may be paths and curves. The clipping of the pattern to the clipping region performs scan line conversion with polygon to polygon clipping or trapezoid/run array to trapezoid/run array clipping.

    摘要: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing method that enable efficient use of code information storage areas and can rapidly process code information to render characters. A character data management unit stores reference information for referencing the shape data of a character indicated by inputted character data in an intermediate code buffer in association with an intermediate code. Thereby, a data amount of the intermediate code buffer is reduced. At the same time, reference information for referencing the intermediate code is stored in a font cache buffer in association with the character shape data. By dint of the mutual reference, when character shape data is to be saved from, e.g., the font cache buffer to the intermediate code buffer, intermediate codes referencing the shape data can be determined from reference information of the character shape data and reference information of the intermediate codes can be modified, so that processing can be performed easily and rapidly.
