摘要: An electronic musical instrument displays a musical score including lyric character strings on a displayer 21, using music data stored in a storage device 43, by program-processing by a computer main unit 42. The music data includes a series of data representative of a lyric character string separated by break of lyrics, word, or segment of a sentence, the series of data stored in associated relation with data representative of a timing indicative of progression of a musical piece. The computer main unit 42 displays, on the displayer 21, a lyric character string which is not provided with enough display space in a display style different from a display style used for a lyric character string provided with enough display space. For example, part or the whole of characters of either of adjacent overlapping character strings is omitted, with a mark representative of being omitted attached. Alternatively, part or the whole of a preceding character string is displayed in a reduced size or in rows. As a result, on displaying character strings for a musical piece in associated relation with a musical score, even in cases where there is not enough space to display the character strings, the character strings can be displayed appropriately.

摘要: A musical keyboard is connected to a computer. The computer implements a graphical user interface for teaching users to play the musical instrument. A computer readable music file, such as a MIDI file, is used to drive the creation of game objects that travel from a point of origination along a path toward a key of a virtual keyboard. In one form, when a user presses a key of the musical keyboard within a certain time window of arrival of the game object at the corresponding key of the virtual keyboard, the user is awarded with an audio presentation, a visual presentation and/or with game points. In a more structured learning mode, the game can be played with selectable, progressively more difficult challenges that the user masters on the road to proficiency.

摘要: A synchronized music delivery system utilizes a portable memory device including compact discs (CDs), digital video discs (DVDs) and memory sticks in combination with an electronic music synthesizer having a lighted keyboard. A synchronized musical work, including music, lyrics and specialized coding, is recorded onto the portable memory device, in one embodiment by downloading the information from the Internet to the portable memory device; and in another embodiment in a stand-alone version involving pre-recording the portable memory device. The synchronized music portable memory device in one embodiment is provided with the actual song recording, sing-along words and indicia, scrollable score coding incorporating notes on a musical score and fingering, and a lighted key drive, all information being synchronized with the work. The synchronized memory device is inserted into a suitable slot in an electronic music synthesizer having a lighted keyboard and song reproduction equipment such that a virtually unlimited number of musical works can be readily delivered in one embodiment to a CD ROM/DVD burner over the Internet, whereby not only can a karaoke-like audio-visual experience be provided, but also a synchronized lighted keyboard is provided to enable an individual not only to sing along, but to play along with the work.

摘要: A musical teaching device has a carriage to be placed in juxtaposition with a piano keyboard. The carriage has a pair of gloves slidably attached to move along the length of the carriage. The fingers of the gloves include signaling devices to indicate proper movement. The carriage and gloves are connected to a controller that commands proper hand positioning and finger movement to play a musical score loaded in the controller. The controller is powered by a computer program.

摘要: A computer-aided learning system to facilitate a human to control the pitch and rhythm of their voice. In a preferred embodiment for learning how to sing a song in tune, a display provides visual, real-time depiction of the singer's actual pitch compared to the “target” pitch they should be singing, thereby allowing the singer to interactively raise or lower the pitch of their voice.

摘要: A method facilitating the learning of music by matching coded note symbols of musical compositions to coded note location and formation identifiers of instruments. Colors, in the preferred embodiment each having a name beginning with one of the letters names of the musical alphabet, are combined with octave group pitch marks, enabling the coding of musical notes. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the colors are paired with stylized animal images. These animal images' names are coupled with the color names of the invention via reiteration of the first letter of the names to enhance the remembering of the relationship between color and note. The invention's color coding system is also applied to musical composition structures for easy identification of musical elements such as compositional keys and key signature.

摘要: A “Measure Minder” device has two display housing parts connected together so that the first display face is viewable to the instructor and the second display face is viewable to the students. The display face includes a first digital display for indicating to the conductor/instructor the measure count of the composition being played. A first blinking display is also provided, indicating to the conductor/instructor the selected number of beats per measure at the selected tempo. A keypad on the first display face allows the conductor/instructor to select the tempo, number of beats per measure, measure count, start or stop the displays, and turn power on and off.

摘要: An electronic music stand system and methodologies relating thereto are presented. The electronic music stand system is comprised of a performer subsystem comprising a processing subsystem, librarian logic, performance logic, and communications management logic. The communications management logic provides management of communication via the communications interface with external apparatus responsive to the performance logic and the librarian logic. The user input apparatus and the display apparatus can be integrated into a touch-screen input display. The user input apparatus can alternatively be at least one of a touch-tablet, a stylus-based writing tablet, a mouse, a keyboard, a joystick, a game controller, and a switch. In a preferred embodiment, the librarian logic, the performance logic and the communications management logic are defined by program data stored in the data storage apparatus, and the processor is responsive to the program data for managing data formatting, displaying music, and management of communications of data with the external apparatus. In one embodiment, two Performer subsystems are operable alternatively as one of a single appliance as a linked set a linked mode and as two independent appliances a stand-alone mode, wherein in the linked mode each of the two Performer subsystems operate cooperatively with each other as a linked set to provide a two page display on the video presentation, and wherein in the stand alone mode each of the two Performer subsystems operates independently and mutually exclusive of the other to provide two independent and mutually exclusive single page displays on the video presentation. The present invention also relates to a method for providing for video display of music responsive to the music data stored in a music database. The method is comprised of defining a page of music image data from the music database; defining ordered logical sections; storing the mapping in a memory for selective retrieval; and providing for the video display of the music responsive to the mapping and the storing.

摘要: A system and method for coordinated music composition and display among musicians is presented. The system and method enables a conductor, composer or band leader to interactively edit one or more score parts of a composition using a pen-based interface, mouse, alphanumeric keyboard, or a musical keyboard. Hand-written music editing, which is entered with the pen-based interface, may be flexibly converted to a digital music notation format. Connected to the composer station are one or more musician stations that may be arranged as an orchestra. The musical score parts may be selectively transmitted to one or more musician stations by the composer. Thus, an operator of the conductor station can flexibly write and edit music score parts and transmit the parts to musicians over the network. The system and method can also be used to conduct the orchestra in rehearsals or performances.
