Abstract:
In an industrial equipment network, each piece of equipment is provided a dedicated controller for providing control and identification information, and for being programmed to provide the interconnection and interaction of its associated piece of equipment with other equipment connected to the network, thereby permitting a SCADA system, via broadcasting from the controllers or polling the controllers, to self-configure itself to show a diagram of the entire equipment network and periodically update the diagram relative to changes thereto, and the status of the equipment on the network.
Abstract:
A remote controlled system employs a computer-based remote control facilitator to facilitate remote control of a controlled device from a non-dedicated remote controller. The computer facilitator is coupled to the remote controller and controlled device via a wireless or wire-based network. The computer facilitator runs an application that corresponds to the controlled device. Neither the remote controller nor the controlled device need have any awareness of the other, or any knowledge as to how to communicate with one another. The computer tells the remote controller what options to present to a user and translates the selection entered by the user into a command that is sent to the controlled device.
Abstract:
A method and a device for securely switching between operating modes of an industrial controller for machine tools or production machines are described. Before the operating mode is switched, the operator is identified by identification means that transmit to an operator's console of the controller a redundant binary enable signal after a successful identification. The operator is allowed to switch between operating modes by using the keys of the operator's console implemented in safe technology as long as the enable signal is received and is error-free. With the method and the device, the operating modes of an industrial controller for machine tools or production machines can be easily, reliably and cost-effectively switched.
Abstract:
An electronic connector connected to a sensor or a switch, and communicating a signal through a common bus includes an I/O unit receiving a signal from the sensor or the switch, a control unit generating a control signal for controlling the driving of a load corresponding to the sensor or the switch according to the signal received from the I/O unit, and a communication unit having a function of decoding the control signal and transmitting the control signal to an equipment connected to the corresponding load through the common bus.
Abstract:
Operating terminal for a system of devices or a machine, particularly for an automation system, comprising a display used in non-graphic mode, and function keys and a scroll device. The display 13 defines one or two Boolean control actions, particularly to the left and right, with symbols Sa, Sb associated with the text. Each symbol comprises an arrow Fa, Fb and a symbol associated with a Boolean control action (20a, 20b). A side key 16a, 16b is associated with each symbol to apply a control action to the automatic control, this action possibly being held or single pressed in the case of a Boolean control, or possibly dual by using the left and right controls. The terminal can provide a large number of control functions using a display with a small number of lines and only two function keys, while maintaining easy dialogue.
Abstract:
An integrated controlled multi-air conditioner system comprising a plurality of groups of indoor units, a plurality of outdoor units connected with the indoor unit groups, respectively, at least one local control unit connected in common with the outdoor units over an internal network for controlling operations of the outdoor units, and a protocol conversion unit connected with the local control unit. The protocol conversion unit is adapted to convert different communication protocols of data transmitted and received between an external Internet network and the internal network into each other to transfer a control command received over the external Internet network to at least one of the outdoor units. The multi-air conditioner system can be efficiently controlled from the internal network and external Internet network, resulting in a reduction in manpower and time for air conditioner management. The multi-air conditioner system is also economical in that it has a reduced number of public IP addresses assigned thereto.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided to control a plumbing fixture, such as a whirlpool, that has electrically operated components. The apparatus has a dial that is moveable by the user into a plurality of positions to select a function of the plumbing fixture to be controlled. A unique sensor arrangement detects motion and the direction of the motion and provides a signal to a controller that changes the valve of a pointer that designates which function is presently selected. The user then presses a keypad to indicate whether the selected function is to be activated or deactivated and to control the intensity of the selected function. The signals from the keypad also are applied to the controller.
Abstract:
The HMI (human machine interface) device is used for observing and operating an industrial process. It contains a display element (B) at least for process variables (PW) and at least one keypad (TV). At least one key (TV2) of the keypad (TV) is assigned a group of characters (a, b, c, 2, null, null, null, null, ). A processing unit (VE) displays another character (2) from the group of assigned characters (a, b, c, 2, . . . ) on the display element (B) in a process variable (PW) for each time the key (TV2) of the keypad (TV) is operated. The processing unit (VE) records, as the current input character (PWS), that character (2) from the group that has been displayed for a predetermined period of time before the key (TV2) is operated anew.
Abstract:
The invention is based on theory, believed to be original, of structure in real time systems. It proposes equipment conforming to this structure, with a method of defining a requirement in terms of rules governing a data structure and the times at which components of the structure are recorded. The data structure consists of a set of lists containing all run-time data and organised in a hierarchy in which an entry of one list may contain particular values, or the latest-available values, of other lists. Theoretical limits on concurrency are proposed, with methods of observing them. Response time performance is adjustable without prejudice to functional performance. Compared with current methods coupling is reduced, improving support for modular structure.
