摘要： A dual function lock having a body, a shackle and a frangible element extending from the body is disclosed. The dual function lock also includes a first locking mechanism within the body wherein when the first locking mechanism is locked, the shackle is in a first position where the toe of the shackle is located within the frangible element so that the shackle cannot be rotated and wherein when the first locking mechanism is unlocked, the shackle can be lifted from the first position so that the toe of the shackle is not within the frangible element so that the shackle can be rotated. Methods of using the lock and a refillable insert of frangible elements are also disclosed.

摘要： A lock includes a housing, a shackle, a controlling unit and a lock core. The shackle has a root section and a free section. The root section is disposed in the housing. The free section extends from the root section and is disposed outside the housing. The controlling unit is disposed in the housing and connected to the root section of the shackle. In particular, the controlling unit is capable of rotating about the root section and axially moving with the root section. Additionally, the lock core is disposed in the housing and is configured to control rotation of the controlling unit.

摘要： An anti-vandal door lock apparatus in which a cylinder lock such as a mortise lock cylinder is employed for unlatching a cylindrical lock assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the mortise lock cylinder is mounted to the outside of a door trim such as a pull plate, with the cylindrical lock mounted to the inside of the trim, and the pull plate is mounted to the door, in such manner as to effect an anti-vandal door lock assembly. Preferred embodiments may include a hold-back feature, as well as a feature for facilitating secured removal of the mortise lock cylinder as for re-keying.

摘要： An electronic combination lock having a dial-shape handle with a keypad incorporated therein is disclosed. Rotation of the handle extends or retracts a bolt that closes or opens the lock. The keypad includes indicia that give the user visual cues as to the orientation of the handle, thereby informing the user of the extended or retracted condition of the bolt. A battery pack is used to energize circuitry that recognizes a code entered through the keypad. The circuitry provides a control signal that activates a solenoid to extend or retract a bolt blocking device, which in turn prevents or enables movement of the bolt. A visual indicator warns of a low voltage or power condition in the battery pack. Electrical contacts are provided in the face plate of the handle to connect the circuitry to an external power source in case the battery pack fails.

摘要： A lock for mounting on a window jamb for selectively grasping a keeper on a window sash to secure the sash closed against the jamb, including a base for mounting to the jamb and defining an open interior space along one side of the base, a rigid plate secured to the base adjacent the open interior space and including a guide slot therein, and a motor driven drive gear pivotable within the open interior space about a first axis. A pawl is secured to the drive gear at one end for pivoting about a second axis spaced from and substantially parallel to the first axis, and includes a keeper grasping portion at its other end. A guide pin projects from the pawl and is slidably received in the guide slot whereby rotation of the drive gear moves the keeper grasping portion of the pawl between the open position and the locking position. An indicator is pivoted in the base through engagement with a drive gear pin and the pawl during movement of the pawl to selectively position one of two visually different portions at a base window opening to visually display the position of the pawl. A paddle is movably mounted within the lock base open interior space, and a switch is operably connected to the paddle provides feedback to actuate power to the motor to move the pawl to the locking position when the paddle is engaged by movement of a keeper into the base open interior space.
