Abstract:
A garment carrier includes an inner chamber. A stiff flap is hingedly mounted along a lower edge of the inner chamber between front and rear panels of the garment carrier. The flap includes a plurality of elastic shoe pockets for receiving shoes. A hanger bracket is pivotably mounted at an upper edge of the inner chamber. The hanger bracket includes a pair of spaced apart, stationary legs each of which having a resilient insert portion defining a longitudinal channel for receiving hanger hooks. Each of the insert portions includes longitudinally spaced projections extending perpendicularly into the channel. The projections on one side of the channel are aligned with, and terminate short of, the projections disposed on the opposite side of the channel. A pair of triangular corner pockets are positioned in two upper corners of the inner chamber. The corner pockets are formed of flexible material and provided with reinforcement to maintain their shape.
Abstract:
An apparatus for retaining garments securely in place within a folding garment bag and on respective hangers includes a pair of straps forming "suspenders" diagonally across the garments and a second pair of straps forming a "belt" horizontally thereacross. The diagonal suspenders encircle the garment and, in conjunction with elasticized supports extending from the top of the garment bag, maintain the garment in place on their respective hangers.
Abstract:
A portable suitcase-like receptacle has two tray-shaped sections which are pivotally connected to each other and whose bottom walls are in the form of light-transmitting panels each of which has an outer portion welded to the sidewalls and two inner portions. One inner portion defines with the outer portion a pocket, and the other inner portion has a flap which can overlie or can be inserted into the pocket.
Abstract:
A tool box for small hand tools and associated items which opens up from the front as well as the top and which is provided with supporting elements for holding certain tools contained therein in an upright position. The tool box includes a bottom wall, a back wall, a pair of opposed side walls, a top cover which is hingedly connected at its back edge to the back wall and which is provided with a built-in storage compartment and a front cover which is hingedly connected at its bottom edge to a front plate and which includes a strip magnet on its inside surface on which can be mounted metal tools. A shelf having a plurality of holes into which can be inserted tools and suspended therein in an upright position is mounted inside the tool box near the top and a removable tray having adjustable compartments is seated on a shelf inside the tool box near the bottom. A pull-out drawer having adjustable compartments is located underneath the tray. The tool box lends iself to an orderly arrangement of the tools and items being stored. In addition when the covers are opened, all of the tools suspended on the shelf near the top and mounted on the strip magnet are clearly visible and easily accessible.
Abstract:
A divider for a suitcase for preventing suits and other normally hanging garments from becoming wrinkled comprises a U-shaped flexible wall member which establishes a gentle fold for the garments when the suitcase is closed. The base portion of this member contains offset apertures which frictionally engage the garments to prevent their sliding out of position during transit, and the roundness of the apex portion is controlled by a directing strut to assure the effectiveness of the divider irregardless of the degree of loading of the suitcase.
Abstract:
A carrying pack for unitizing garments in luggage comprising a wrapper portion and an adjustable frame for adapting the pack for various suitcase sizes. The wrapper includes a central rectangular panel with four flaps which tie about the garments and a handle portion for lifting the pack.
Abstract:
An item of expandable luggage includes a multiple expansion capability, including an expandable main compartment and an expandable external pocket. The luggage item also includes a pair of internal tie-down panels for better holding of clothes within the item and for providing additional storage pockets. A low-profile clothes hanger bracket is provided which is useful with either wire or wooden clothes hangers and includes a harness to avoid unintentional dislodgement of the hangers.
Abstract:
A suitcase is provided with a compressive liner encapsulating an air tight packing chamber and having a sealable opening to allow placement and removal of clothing and other articles within the packing chamber. In a relaxed state, the volume of the packing chamber is substantially greater than the volume of the suitcase interior, thereby enlarging the available packing space. When the liner is filled and sealed closed, air is withdrawn from the packing chamber by a motorized vacuum pump, causing the liner to collapse and compress the contents, thereby reducing the volume of the packing chamber to a size which fits within the closed suitcase. A one-way valve holds the vacuum within the chamber, maintaining the liner in the collapsed state until the opening is unsealed.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a case for storing small appliances for personal use. The case (2) is comprised of a supporting structure (4) having at least two sections (8, 10) jointed to each other by a deflecting means (6). Provided on either section (8, 10) is at least one retaining means (12, 14) receiving an appliance and an accessory. Related to the deflecting means, the retaining means (12, 14) are so arranged that they lie side-by-side in a row when the sections (8, 10) are folded one over the other.
Abstract:
There is provided a system for forming compartments in a carrying case or attache case to stow various items, such as a laptop or notebook computer. The system comprises a plurality of support bars disposed along the inner walls of the carrying case and a plurality of partition bars coupled to the frame. Each support bar has a pair of substantially parallel rails disposed at its upper side and a longitudinal surface disposed at its lateral side. The parallel rails form an equidistant channel therebetween. Each partition bar that has an end portion for coupling to a respective support bar. The end portion has an appendage that is disposed in the channel of the support bar and a planar end surface that is positioned adjacent to the longitudinal surface of the support bar. Accordingly, each elongated partition bar subdivides the housing and forms a compartment on either side of the partition bar.
