Abstract:
A main drive and convert mechanism in a platen press with a flat auto-die for cutting and gilding including a machine mount, a power platen as well as four sets of upper shaft seats and toggle rod upper shafts connected with the power platen is characterized that four sets of conjugate cams and four sets of lower toggle rod drive gears are installed between the four sets of toggle rod upper shafts and the machine mount. The advantages of the present invention are that, first, converting the rotary movement of the conjugate cams to an up-and-down linear movement of the power platen thereby accelerating the ascending and descending speed of the power platen as well as having special pressing time for continuously pressing convexes and gilding. Second, enhancing the process quality and quantity as well as the production effect. Third, being excellent practicality, economies and potential developing prospects.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the device comprises: a counter-acting cylinder (1) provided with a plurality of points (1P) and interacting with an adhesive dispenser (7), a pressure roller (3) and a laminating roller (5); the points on the counter-acting cylinder have a density and dimensions such that the technical and functional and/or aesthetic characteristics of the web material are not appreciably altered, and such that the two layers (V1, V2) are joined by means of the adhesive applied by said dispensing roller at the positions of the points.
Abstract:
A method of operating a sheet-processing rotary printing press provided with a die cutting or punching unit and a delivery for forming processed sheets into a sheet pile or stack includes, in a first method step, moving the punching or die cutting unit, during production printing by the rotary printing press, from a first operating state of the unit wherein the sheets are punched or die cut, into a second operating state of the unit wherein the sheets are not punched or die cut as they pass the punching or die cutting unit, and after a given number of non-punched or non-die cut sheets have passed through the unit. In a second method step, the punching or die cutting unit is moved back into the first operating state thereof. The invention also includes a method of operating the printing press.
Abstract:
An embossing system for embossing and perforating at least a portion of a web is provided comprising a first embossing roll having embossing elements and at least a second embossing roll having embossing elements, wherein the elements of the first and second embossing rolls define perforate nips for embossing and perforating the web and wherein at least a predominate number of the perforate nips are substantially oriented in the cross-machine direction. Moreover, substantially all of the nips defined by the embossing elements of the first and second embossing rolls can be substantially oriented in the cross-machine direction. Further, the cross-machine embossing elements are at an angle of about 85null to 95null from the machine direction.
Abstract:
A method of copying a three-dimensional surface having X, Y, and Z dimensions forms a translucent impression of the surface to be copied and then captures a two-dimensional image of the translucent impression. The captured image has X and Y dimensions and a grayscale value for each X, Y coordinate of the image. Then, the method converts each grayscale value of the image to a Z height value, thereby generating a digital file of X, Y, and Z values. The digital file may then be provided as an input to a numerically controlled machine, which can be operated to reproduce the surface to be copied. The method of the present invention finds particular application in digitizing handcrafted emboss dies and the like.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for keyboard pad-printing and a method thereof for printing on the contact surfaces of keys of a keyboard in order to form a protective film layer with clamped-pattern peaks and valleys on each of the keys of the keyboard. The apparatus comprises a clamped-pattern printing board and a pad-printing module. The clamped-pattern printing board has a roughened surface on which clamped-pattern peaks and valleys are provided, and the pad-printing module has a plurality of pads. The invention forms a protective film layer on the contact surface by pressing the pad-printing module onto the roughened surface with the protective coating thereon, and then pressing the pads onto the contact surfaces, so that the protective film layer protects the symbol pattern on the key, and the cost and flaw rate of the keyboard pad-print are both reduced, thus simplifying the manufacturing process.
Abstract:
A hot-stamping foil tape cassette comprises a hot-stamping foil tape transferred by pressure application together with a value-added medium to the value-added medium and a windup reel for winding up the hot-stamping foil tape. The reel on which the hot-stamping foil tape is wound is stored in a cassette case. A shutter is included which at the time of hot-stamping transfer is in a protective position that protects the hot-stamping foil tape. The shutter at the time of hot-stamping transfer withdraws to a withdrawal position that does not interfere with action of the hot-stamping transfer. After hot-stamping, by the shutter, the hot-stamping foil tape can be peeled from the value-added medium. A foil-peeling mechanism for a hot-stamping device, a peeling method for a hot-stamping foil and a control method for a hot-stamping foil tape cassette are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention a gravure cylinder is engraved by means of an electron beam which is modulated to create upon the surface of the gravure cylinder the desired gravure cells, the required vacuum being maintained only in a limited volume around the electron gun by the use of a conformal high vacuum ferrofluid seal that is substantially free of mechanical friction.
Abstract:
Method of producing a paper having a three-dimensional pattern of alternating raised and recessed portions which is given the paper in connection with impulse drying. The paper web has a varying material composition as seen in its thickness direction, so that it at least in an outer layer contains an amount of a material that softens, melts or hardens in the temperature interval 100-400null C. or in some other way contributes in stabilizing the pattern structure that has been given the paper. It is further referred to an impulse-dried paper produced according to the method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an absorbent paper product, such as a napkin or tissue, including at least two tissue paper plies which are superposed and joined, cut or precut into a desired format and connected to one another at least over a segment of a peripheral zone. The plies are joined along the segment by marking patterns without resort to glueing and at least one ply is fitted with embossing patterns in a central zone. The invention applies to sanitary and household papers, in particular disposable napkins and tissues.
