Abstract:
The present invention relates to a silo (1) comprising one or more cells (2), each cell comprising one or more outlet openings (3), wherein said cells have an angular cross-section and wherein said outlet openings have a non-angular cross-section, wherein said outlet openings and said cells are connected to one another by means of a transition plate (4), wherein the angle a between the wall of the cell and said transition plate is constant along the radial periphery of the outlet opening. The present invention also relates to a kit and a method for constructing such silo.
Abstract:
To provide a fuel supplying device that, in a fuel tank equipped with plural accommodating portions that accommodate fuel, can suppress occurrence of running-out of fuel and can send-out fuel in a short time, even when a liquid surface of fuel of a fuel tank main body tilts. A sub-cup that has a fuel filter and a storage member is disposed at each of a first accommodating portion and a second accommodating portion. A distal end of a vapor discharging pipe of a fuel pump main body (or a sending-back pipe of a pressure regulator) is disposed within a second storage member.
Abstract:
A column assembly for supporting a floating roof used with a storage tank for containing a volatile fluid, including an inner pipe, an outer pipe securable to the floating roof to extend below and generally perpendicular to the roof, the outer pipe surrounding and being movable axially on the inner pipe with a generally annular space defined between them, a pin extendable transversely through the overlapping walls of the inner and outer pipes to releasably fix the axial position of one pipe relative to the other, and a cylindrical sleeve seal having an upper part to slidably engage the inner pipe outer surface, a lower part bore surface to engage the top end outer surface of the outer pipe, and a radially inward extending rib situated axially between the upper and lower parts and extending transversely across and closing the top end of the annular space between the pipes.
Abstract:
An applicator for combining and applying components of a multi-part curable system includes a proportioning valve having a body with a plurality of separate internal passageways, each communicating with a separate inlet recess and a separate outlet opening maintaining each component in separate condition in the valve. Each inlet recess is adapted to be connected to a source of one component of a multi-part curable system and the discharge openings discharge the two components separately from a common nose into an attached static mixing applicator nozzle.
Abstract:
A silo for gravity flow storage of bulk particulate solids comprises downwardly converging and downwardly diverging walls. The downwardly converging walls form angles to the vertical that satisfy the conditions for mass flow. The walls impose particle velocity gradients in the horizontal cross sections of the silo, reducing interparticle cohesion, preventing the formation of arches and promoting uniformity of residence time within the silo. The modules may be vertically stacked, and may be clustered to increase capacity and to reduce pressure stress levels where required.
Abstract:
An assembly providing a removable tapered insert for a particulate material container. A plurality of annularly spaced flat brackets are supported on and project inwardly of the container. The insert has tapered upper edge projections and is rotatable for vertical engagement with projections formed on the inner edges of the brackets. A cylindrical support ring may be provided to rest on notches formed on the inner edges of the brackets, and when fully assembled the insert may rest on the support ring for full annular support by the ring. Locking washers may be provided to prevent disengagement of the projections on the insert and brackets.
Abstract:
A hopper assembly comprising a hopper bin having a substantially trapezoidal discharge opening and a charging adapter having multiple walls, each of the walls having a vertical portion.
Abstract:
In a chip bin or similar cylindrical upright vessel for storing particulate material the interior generally vertical wall of the vessel has a surface configuration which reduces compression of particulates within the vessel so as to substantially prevent pluggage or particulate bridging. Three or more right circular cone frustrums having a larger diameter at higher portions than at lower portions are provided along the interior generally vertical, either one immediately adjacent the other without significant spacing between them, or in a discontinuous manner being spaced from each other a significant distance. The frustrums insure that the vertical pressure level throughout the vessel is less than about 250 psf (e.g. less than about 200 psf). The vessel may be constructed of concrete using slip forms, with the concrete providing both the exterior and interior of the vessel, or a steel shell may comprise the exterior. The bottom of the vessel includes a hopper, or a vibrating discharge, and if the vessel is a chip bin steam is added at various points within the vessel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to apparatus comprising a container, such as a silo or hopper for storing and distributing flowable material, to receptacle such as an I.B.C. via an outlet, there being a device adapted for removing and replacing a closure of the receptacle, particularly on passage of material into the receptacle. In a preferred arrangement, outlet of the silo is normally obturated by a conical (or frusto-conical) closure device which is raised and lowered by pneumatic devices in the form of an air bellows mounted in the silo on a frame. The bellows is within a cone, and there is also a device for oscillating the cone, such as a vibrator, in order to obviate bridging or rat-holing of material during discharge. The bellows is housed within a hygienic cover for cleanliness. The cone is connected with the bellows via a connector which may be in the form of a telescopic tube. The tube passes through the apex of the cone and is secured thereat as by a nut and bolt arrangement. The tube passes down interiorly of the cone and terminates in a suction cup such as a rubber cup, the cup itself being generally conical and its periphery being generally in a plane which also contains the periphery of the cone. There is a vacuum line connecting the interior of the tube, and hence the interior of the cup, with a vacuum source.
Abstract:
The Self Emptying Vacuum Vessel is an apparatus for collecting and discharging solid and or liquid material. The system is used to transfer said material from an undesirable area to a more preferred location. The Self Emptying Vacuum Vessel comprises a containment vessel which collects said material by a vacuum means and a screw conveyor as a means for continuously expelling said material from said vessel. Continuous flow is insured into said vessel by a vacuum regulating means and out of same vessel by an anti-bridging means.
