摘要： A device and method for expanding the distance between individual multiwell plates of a stack of multiwell plates so that all the plates can be loaded at once into a magazine commonly used in automated analysis systems. Significant to the device are a series of inter-connected rails, each rail capable of supporting one plate. As the distance between the rails is increased, the stack of plates is expanded and will align with slots from a magazine loader. By using the device, a stack can be expanded in preparation for loading, or conversely, plates coming from a magazine can be restacked for storage.

摘要： A trash bag opener and removal apparatus has a feed conveyor, a housing assembly and a discharge conveyor for opening and removing plastic and paper bags filled with material and discharging the material at a chute end of the discharge conveyor. The bags are routed by the feed conveyor into the housing assembly, which has a separate input conveyor, a slicer assembly, a slitter assembly, a bag stripper assembly and first and second paddle wheels. The input conveyor is located proximate to the feed conveyor and travels faster than the feed conveyor to upset the bags and ensure that the bag bottoms are exposed for the slicer assembly. The slicer assembly has a rotating, cylindrical drum with three serrated blades along its length and oscillates to tear the bags open. The paddle wheels retard and assist in moving the bags and refuse from the slicer assembly to the slitter assembly, which has rotating notched disk blades to rip the bags open, and then to the discharge conveyor. The bags and refuse then pass beneath the bag stripper assembly, which has rotating, extending fingers that grab and remove the torn bags from the refuse. The fingers retract as the bag stripping assembly rotates and then drop the bags on top of the refuse. The discharge conveyor then moves the bags and refuse to the chute end for discharging the refuse.

摘要： A cover assembly is provided which is adapted for use on a receptacle transporting vehicle having a receptacle supporting scull frame swingable from a receptacle transport position to a dumping position for discharging molten contents of the receptacle. Included in the assembly is an insulated lid member for opening and closing the receptacle, the closure position retarding heat loss from the molten contents to preclude solidification during transport thereof between spaced locations. A pair of laterally spaced-apart support arms, mounted so as to move concurrently with the swingable scull frame, position the lid member adjacent the top of the receptacle during scull frame movement and especially during transport of the receptacle from one location to another. A pivot assembly rotates the support arms for similar movement of the attached lid between receptacle opening and closure positions, such movement being independent of the scull frame movement. An operator-actuated piston system selectively controls lid movement between the opening and closure position. The assembly is mounted to the scull frame to provide rotation of the lid in a direction away from and contra the rotational movement of the scull frame from the transport to dumping positions to preclude interference of the lid with the contents being discharged from the receptacle.
