摘要： A spring loaded, adjustable caster is disclosed which is used in combination with a rolling ladder. The adjustable caster comprises a wheel, a wheel mount for mounting the wheel, a longitudinal adjustable shank including a connecting rod having a threaded bore and a threaded shaft disposed in screwthreaded engagement with each other, whereby the length of the longitudinal adjustable shank may be varied. A jam nut is disposed in threadingly fitted engagement on the threaded shaft intermediate to the connecting rod and the wheel mount, whereby the jam nut may be rotated into a biasing relationship to the connecting rod. The caster further includes a sleeve adapted for sliding support of the connecting rod and with a spring disposed within the sleeve to provide a compressed relationship between the sleeve and the connecting rod. The sleeve is then mounted on a rolling ladder. Also, disclosed is a rolling ladder including a rectangular base with an adjustable caster disposed in each of the corners thereof, and a ladder leg disposed adjacent to each of the adjustable casters. Each of the ladder legs are in pre-determined spaced-apart relationship. When the ladder is empty, the casters engage the floor. When the ladder is loaded, the weight of the load compresses the caster and the legs then engage the floor. Each individual caster can be adjusted to provide for uniform engagement of the floor when the ladder is loaded and uniform clearance from the floor when not stood upon.

摘要： A mobile scaffold having a main frame with an elevated work station. Widener frames are detachably and pivotally connected to the main frame, forming a secure and integral part of the scaffold, the widener frames each having a vertically adjustable ground-engaging caster thereon to support the full weight of the scaffold. The widener frames are pivotal to an inward position narrowing the width of the scaffold to enable the scaffold to be rolled through narrow doors or aisles and pivotal outwardly to a position which widens the base and affords maximum stability for the scaffold when in use.

摘要： In order to transport a heavy ladder to a work site, a caddy is provided in the form of a pair of transverse pieces having resilient clips installed thereon adapted to engage and clamp onto any rung of the ladder. 摘要： A combined step ladder and tool cart having three basic components, namely a special, foldable step ladder having its set of front legs substantially shorter than the back set, a collapsible wheeled dolly, and removable tool or storage bin to be fitted within the confines of the dolly and attached thereto. The step ladder is mounted onto the dolly at its uppermost section by means of bolts or pivot pins and is designed to be folded up, over and horizontally onto the dolly so that it rides thereon when the dolly is transported from one location to another. The storage bin, which also can be collapsible if desired, is detachable from the dolly and carries on its front face such paraphernalia as a name tag, pencil holder and clip board. The dolly which is vertically adjustable serves as a set of front legs for the step ladder when the ladder is in its erected disposition. The dolly has its two sides joined by means of an X-folding member located at its back end and is preferrably completely open at its front end. Auxiliary tool trays and/or paint can racks can be mounted on the ladder for further utility.

摘要： An adjustable scaffold has movable ladder sections and a base with a fixed ladder portion. Cable and pulley assemblies in conjunction with a counterweight permit raising and lowering of the movable ladder sections. Guide means are mounted on the fixed ladder portion to guide movement of the counterweight. 摘要： The ladder is elevated above its supporting surface and has an arm pivotally mounted on the lower end portion thereof, which is yieldably biased in one angular direction thereof, into a stopped position on the ladder. The arm in turn has a surface engaging wheel thereon, which is rotatably mounted about an axis that is spaced apart from the pivotal axis of the arm, at a point on the arm at which the wheel supports the ladder above the surface in response to the bias on the arm. When the user''s weight is added to the ladder, the wheel is restrained against rotation by an element which is disposed on the ladder so as to engage the wheel when the arm and the ladder are pivoted in relation to one another in the direction opposed to the bias on the arm. However, there are means on the ladder whereby the restrainer element can be disengaged from the wheel under the condition in which the element and the arm are displaced in relation to one another in the direction opposed to the bias on the arm. Therefore, the wheel can be released for rotation even while the user remains on the ladder.

摘要： A scaffold structure having a frame with both means for stationarily supporting the frame and anti-friction means for movably supporting the frame. The anti-friction means is connected to the frame in a manner to allow movement between an extended position in which the frame is supported on the antifriction means and a retracted position in which the frame is supported by the stationarily supporting means. Means is provided for moving the anti-friction means between its extended and retracted position and for locking the anti-friction means in its extended position. In a specific embodiment, the frame has a ladder secured to the frame and a second ladder removably connected to the frame, the removable ladder forming an extension of the secured ladder.
