    摘要: A long stroke pumping unit includes a tower and a counterweight assembly movable along the tower. A belt includes a first end connected to the counterweight assembly and a second end connectable to a rod string. A prime mover is used to reciprocate the counterweight assembly along the tower. A sensor detects the position of the counterweight assembly, and a load cell measures the force exerted on the rod string. A motor is provided to adjust an effective weight of the counterweight assembly during reciprocation thereof along the tower. A controller communicates data with the sensor and the load cell and controls the adjustment force exerted by the adjustment motor.

    摘要: Cushioning dampers are beneficial for preventing stress cracks on a sucker rod reciprocating pump whose circular arc head is contiguous with a counterweight and is pivotably connected to the pitman arm, crank arm weight, and speed reducer. The pitman arm is substantially horizontal and the crank arm to wrist pin phase angle is about 70-90 degrees. Auxiliary counter weight extends from the head weight on a stinger and the head weights are adjustable. The head weight diameter is either constrained within the circular arc head's outer diameter or can be larger. The upper pitman bearings are outboard on the equalizer which is integral with the head. The center bearing of the head is outboard on the rectangular sampson post. The head counterweight increases permissible load on a speed reducer. This invention has embodiments for adjusting sampson post height and pitman arm length; and for changing the stroke length without removing the wrist pin from the crank weight hole.

The Samson post includes a front leg that is supported by the base and a connection bracket affixed to the front leg. The Samson post further includes an adjustable rear leg that is connected between the connection bracket and the pedestal. The rear leg can be rotated and shifted up and down within the connection bracket to ensure that the opposite end of the rear leg is properly located on the pedestal.

    摘要: A downhole pump is used for a reciprocating pump system having a rod string disposed in a tubing string. A barrel of the pump is disposed, and a plunger of the pump coupled to the rod string is movably disposed in the barrel. The plunger has an external surface disposed at an annular gap relative to the barrel's internal surface. The external surface has circumferential grooves defined thereabout that hold wipers. An inner ring of the wipers composed of a swellable material is engaged in the one or more circumferential grooves, while an outer ring composed of a second material is disposed about the inner ring. The swellable material of the inner ring energizes the outer ring in slideable engagement with the internal surface of the barrel.

    摘要: A pump jack with counterbalance system is provided, including a supporting structure, a linear actuator with a housing and a shaft, a first pulley carried by the shaft, a second pulley fixed above the first pulley, an elongate flexible member, and a weight cared by the shaft. The housing is vertically oriented and mounted to the supporting structure above a ground surface. The shaft has a first end received within the housing and a connection end that extends out of the housing and carries the first pulley and the weight. The linear actuator drives the shaft between extended and retracted positions. The elongate member passes around the pulleys and has a first end fixed relative to the housing and a second end connected to a surface rod, such that reciprocating movement of the shaft causes the surface rod to move vertically and the weight to act as a mechanical counterbalance.

    摘要: A system and method for optimizing performance of an artificial lift system are provided. The optimization process can be performed automatically by a controller configured to receive optimization parameters from the user and information regarding the performance of the system. The optimization process adjusts the pumping speed of the system in response to measured rod load and a position of the downhole pump or surface pumping unit. More particularly, the optimization process can increase or decrease the pump speed of the system in response to the measured rod load at a reference position relative to a reference rod load at the reference position. The reference load and position can be selected to indicate pump inefficiencies. For example, the target reference load and position can indicate fluid pounding if the measured rod load at the reference position is greater than the reference rod load at the reference position.

These geometric ratios can be used to express the relative size and spacing of the crankshaft, crank arms, center bearing, equalizer bearing, walking beam and pitman arms. Pump jacks incorporating one or more of these geometric ratios can be sized and scaled for a variety of pumping applications.
