    摘要: There is obtained a superconductive magnet in which there are reduced the machining costs and the amount of materials for bobbins and supporting members that support coils. In a superconductive magnet provided with a first group of coils serving as main coils for generating a magnetic field and a second group of coils serving as shield coils that are arranged coaxially with the first group of coils and generate a magnetic field whose direction is opposite the direction of a magnetic field generated by the first group of coils so that a magnetic field that leaks outside is cancelled, the second group of coils are arranged at axis-direction positions where axis-direction electromagnetic force generated by the first group of coils and exerted on the second group of coils and axis-direction electromagnetic force generated by the second group of coils balance with each other and cancel out each other.

The third coil module is fashioned to generate a compensation gradient field given occurrence of an interference gradient field in the environment so that the effect of the interference gradient field in the operating volume is reduced.

    摘要: Apparatus for inductive braking of a projectile are disclosed. Embodiments include a receiver that has a unidirectional conductor having a closed conductive pathway that encircles a passageway for a moving projectile. The unidirectional conductor permits current to flow through it in substantially only one direction around the passageway. As the projectile and its associated magnetic field move past the unidirectional conductor, the moving magnetic field induces a current flow through the closed conductive pathway, which in turn generates a magnetic field behind the projectile having the same polarity as the projectile's field. The two fields attract one another, which both exerts a braking force on the projectile and tends to align the two fields. Alignment of these fields centers the projectile away from the passageway wall. Because the unidirectional conductor permits current to flow in substantially only the direction that produces a field having the same polarity as the moving field, the opposite-polarity repulsive magnetic field that would otherwise be generated ahead of the projectile, which would otherwise deflect the projectile from its path, is suppressed. Methods of inductive braking are also disclosed.

The electrical coil surrounds a part of the soft magnetic element. The movable magnetic element is held in a first position by a spring force and moved into a second position by applying an external mechanical force exceeding the spring force, and at the first position the magnetic flux within the soft magnetic element is different than the flux at the second position.

    摘要: An effective method for prolonging localization of therapeutics within the rat gastrointestinal tract of at least about 12 hours is provided. The method includes localization of therapeutic agents that are nanoparticulated or nanoencapsulated. Attractive forces between an orally administered magnetic dose and an external magnet were monitored and internal dose motion in real time using biplanar videofluoroscopy was visualized. Tissue elasticity was quantified as a measure of tissue health by combining data streams. The methods address safety, efficacy, and monitoring capacity of magnetically localized doses and show a platform for testing the benefits of localized drug delivery.
