摘要: Described are various embodiments of a light field shaping systems for interfacing with light emanated from pixels of a digital display to govern display of perception-adjusted content. Various embodiments comprise a light field shaping layer (LFSL) disposable relative to the digital display to align an array of light field shaping elements with the pixels of the digital display, thereby defining a perception adjustment of displayed content. Various embodiments further comprise an actuator operable on by a digital processor for translating the LFSL to adjust an optical path length between the LSFL and the digital display, thereby defining an adjusted perception adjustment of displayed content in accordance with an adjusted geometry.

The calibration method includes: obtaining a three dimensional (3D) point coordinate corresponding to a target calibration graphic card image; the target calibration graphic card image includes an image of a calibration graphic card, and the target calibration graphic card image is an image captured by a positioning assembly in response to that a preset image of the calibration graphic card projected by an optical engine on a see-through display coincides with a real calibration graphic card under a perspective of a wearer of the head-mounted display device; determining a corresponding relationship between a projection coordinate system of the optical engine and a coordinate system of the positioning assembly according to the 3D point coordinate; and calibrating display content of the head-mounted display device according to the corresponding relationship.

摘要: A method for determining a transformation between frames of reference for two inertial measurement units (IMUs) is disclosed. The transformation includes biases associated with the measurements of each of the IMUs and the extrinsic details can include relative differences in the position and orientation of the IMUs. The IMUs may be mechanically coupled to a frame so that their movements are related. The IMUs can be coupled to a pair of displays in a head-mounted device (e.g., smart glasses) so that a display spacing between for a pair of stereoscopic displays can be accurately determined and adjusted to match the eyes of the user.

One example provides an HMD device comprising a first image projector and a second image projector configured to project a stereoscopic image pair, and an optical calibration system. The optical calibration system comprises a first optical path indicative of an alignment of the first image projector, a second optical path indicative of an alignment of the second image projector, a waveguide combiner in which the first and second optical paths combine into a shared optical path, and one or more boresight sensors configured to detect calibration image light traveling along one or more of the first optical or the second optical path.

摘要: A 3D display device includes a display panel, a barrier, a detector, and a controller. The display panel displays a parallax image including a first image and a second image having parallax with respect to the first image. The barrier defines a traveling direction of image light of the parallax image to generate parallax between first and second eyes of a user. The detector captures an image of a face of the user viewing the parallax image. The controller generates a first reference image by combining the first and second images different from each other based on an index defining an arrangement of the first and second images to be displayed on the display panel, causes the display panel to display the first reference image, and adjusts the index based on the image of the face of the user captured by the detector onto which the reference image is projected.

摘要: A head-mounted display system includes a left display assembly configured to provide left-side display light. A first left inertial measurement unit (IMU) is configured to measure an orientation of the left display assembly. A right display assembly is configured to provide right-side display light. A first right IMU is configured to measure an orientation of the right display assembly. A communication interface is configured to receive a left-side orientation of a head-tracking system as measured by a second left IMU, and a right-side orientation of a head-tracking system as measured by a second right IMU. A logic machine is configured to assess an alignment of the head-mounted display system based at least in part on the orientation of the left display assembly, the orientation of the right display assembly, the left-side orientation of the head-tracking system, and the right-side orientation of the head-tracking system.

摘要: A target is outputted to an ideal position in 3D space. A viewer indicates the apparent position of the target, and the indication is sensed. An offset between the ideal and apparent positions is determined, and an adjustment determined from the offset such that the apparent position of the ideal position with the adjustment matches the ideal position without the adjustment. The adjustment is made to the first entity and/or a second entity, such that the entities appear to the viewer in the ideal position. The indication may be monocular with a separate indication for each eye, or binocular with a single viewer indication for both eyes. The indication also may serve as communication, such as a PIN input, so that calibration is transparent to the viewer. The method may be continuous, intermittent, or otherwise ongoing over time.

摘要: The techniques disclosed herein may be utilized to detect, measure, and/or compensate for misalignments of a display that may occur after manufacturing. A Talbot sensor is described that includes a diffraction device and an image sensor. Captured images from the image sensor include pixel data values that include bright and dark spots that represent a diffraction pattern associated with the Talbot sensor. A demodulator multiplies the pixel data values with sine and cosine reference images to generate averaged in-phase and quadrature values, which can be used to determine a phase angle for incident light on the Talbot sensor. Phase angle changes over time indicate changes in the alignment of the display, which may be corrected by display parameter manipulation. The resulting devices, systems and methods provide for portable solutions, with reduced cost of manufacturing, reduced part costs, and reduced complexity.

The system includes: a naked-eye stereoscopic display device, configured to display preset images in sequence; an image acquisition device, configured to obtain monochromatic images by capturing display contents of the naked-eye stereoscopic display device, and send the monochromatic images to a processor; and a processor, configured to acquire at least one preset crosstalk amount to each stereoscopic pixel of the naked-eye stereoscopic display device from each view point according to the monochromatic images, where each of the at least one preset crosstalk amount represents a proportion coefficient that measures how much a view from another view point affects a color value of a view from a target view point.
