    摘要: The invention relates to a flying object being moved with transonic or supersonic velocities. Known flying objects comprise so called “aerospikes” used for reducing the wave drag and improving the airflow at the front surface of the flying object. The positive effect of these aerospikes is decreased or cancelled in case of the flying object moving in the airflow with an inclination angle between the longitudinal axis of the flying object and the aerospike.The present invention suggests pivoting the aerospike by means of active or passive measures in order to align the aerospike with the upstream airflow during a flight phase of the flying object.

    摘要: An new ornithopter is provided with an elongated body, wings extending laterally from the forward end of the elongated body, and a tail extending laterally from the rear end of the elongated body. In one embodiment, an elongated rotatable member is rotatably coupled at one end to the forward end of the body, and a mass is connected to the other end of the elongated rotatable member. The elongated rotatable member and the mass are rotated to drive the ornithopter. In another embodiment, a mass is coupled to the forward end of the elongated body, and the mass is moved laterally from one side of the elongated body to the other side of the elongated body to drive the ornithopter. The mass may be imparted with rotational and/or translational movement.

    摘要: A flapping apparatus includes a first disk rotated by a driving source, and a second disk that rotates in contact with a main surface of the first disk. The second disk is provided with first and second stoppers that limit its angle of rotation. When the stopper is in contact with the first disk, rotation of a wing shaft is caused only by the rotation of the first disk, and when the stoppers are not in contact with the first disk, rotation of the wing shaft is caused only by the rotation of the second disk.

    摘要: An aircraft is constructed of an airfoil shaped inflated involucrum of lightweight gas-impervious plastic film. The airfoil is maneuverable to attain forward self-propulsion upon ascent as well as descent. The gases contained in the involucrum are heated by solar radiation to reduce craft density with the upper surface of the airfoil being translucent and the lower surface of the airfoil interior mirrored for concentration of the radiant energy upon an interior cylindrical black spar. A honeycomb reradiation barrier is provided beneath the translucent surface. In one embodiment a large volume involucrum is changeable in camber to maximize forward propulsion. The craft may be utilized to suspend a large fog broom for the purpose of condensation of water vapor. In a further embodiment a manpowered inflatable craft is formed with a flexible longitudinal medial fold which separates the airfoil into wing segments. Each segment includes a passive trailing zone. When the wing segments are oscillated about the medial fold, the craft is propelled by ciliary thrust.
