    摘要: A method for adjusting a pick height of a pick mechanism includes determining a media type for a media stack. When the media type is a first media type, the lift plate is raised to raise the media stack and pick mechanism until a first light blocking region of a flag extending from the pick mechanism blocks an optical path of a sensor indicating that the pick mechanism has reached a first pick height. When the media type is a second media type, the lift plate is raised to raise the media stack and pick mechanism such that the first light blocking region first blocks the optical path, a first light passing region of the flag subsequently unblocks the optical path, and then a second light blocking region of the flag subsequently blocks the optical path indicating that the pick mechanism has reached a second pick height.

    摘要: A document feeder includes a lift plate, a storage section, and an operation display section. The lift plate lifts a document sheaf up to a feed position. The storage section stores a first travel amount. The first travel amount is a travel amount of the lift plate necessary for the lift plate to cause the document sheaf to arrive at the feed position in a situation in which the document sheaf has a maximum permitted thickness. When a second travel amount is less than the first travel amount, the operation display section informs that the number of the document sheets in the document sheaf exceeds a maximum sheet number. The second travel amount is a travel amount of the lift plate taken to cause the topmost part of the document sheaf to arrive at the feed position.

    摘要: A sheet stacking device includes sheet stacking portion, electric motor, current detecting portion, abnormality determining portion, and updating portion. The sheet stacking portion is supported to be movable in up-down direction and configured to stack sheets thereon. The electric motor outputs, to the sheet stacking portion, a driving force for moving the sheet stacking portion in up-down direction. The current detecting portion detects a current value of the electric motor. The abnormality determining portion determines that the sheet stacking portion is in abnormal state when the detected current value is greater than a predetermined threshold. The updating portion updates the threshold based on the current value that was detected by the current detecting portion while the sheet stacking portion with a predetermined set amount of sheets stacked thereon was being moved by the driving force received from the electric motor.
