摘要: A system for simulating one or more hemorrhages in order to provide a more dynamic and realistic hemorrhage simulation in order to train medical personnel and other critical care givers, such as first responders, medics, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) on treating hemorrhages. The system includes a reservoir, a flow controller, and at least one conduit connected to at least one simulated wound site wherein the system supplies fluid to the simulated wound site in order to simulate a hemorrhage. The system may further include a plurality of wound sites that have their respective fluid flows controlled by the fluid flow controller. In at least one embodiment, the reservoir and the flow controller are housed within a bag. In at least one embodiment, the system further includes an audio system for providing audio cues to the simulation participants to enhance the realism of the simulation.

摘要: A dental indirect vision training apparatus is provided devised to assist in the development of indirect vision eye-hand coordination among dental students. A prosthetic jaw member is rotatably positioned upon a base stand and each of a maxillary and mandibular denture is attachable into the jaw member in positions appropriate to resemble human anatomy. Target members disposed upon each of the maxillary and mandibular teeth enable practiced movements with dental tools wielded to contact the target members by indirect sighting via a manually coordinated dental mirror. Dental students thereby learn spatial relationships and eye-hand coordination interior to an oral cavity while visually apprehending images reflected at angles atypically experienced in everyday life. Indirect vision and coordinated movements are thereby explored, strengthened, and developed.

摘要: A surgical simulator for surgical training is provided. The simulator includes a frame defining an enclosure and a simulated tissue model located inside the frame. The simulated tissue model is adapted for practicing a number of surgical procedures including but not limited to transanal excisions and transvaginal hysterectomies. Portions of the frame comprises a material adhesively compatible with the material of portions of the simulated tissue model to secure and suspend the simulated tissue model within the frame. The simulated tissue model may also include simulated vasculature configured to loop through apertures in the frame to secure and suspend the simulated tissue model within the frame.

摘要: A spinal training simulator kit with an operable module unit for surgical training is described. The spinal training simulator kit includes an anatomical base model of at least a portion of a spinal column and at least one high-fidelity module unit, the module unit comprising intervertebral disc analogues and vertebral segment analogues, and the module unit configured to fit within the base model in an anatomically correct orientation and location. The module unit may be acted upon, i.e. surgical instruments may be passed through, thus, providing a realistic simulator for surgical training.

摘要: A modular mannequin has a plurality of individual mannequin sub-parts and one or more flexible couplings. Each of the flexible couplings is configured to releasably connect two or more of the plurality of individual mannequin sub-parts to one another. Further, one or more of the individual mannequin sub-parts is each configured to receive at least one removable material. The modular mannequin may improve the ease of which a bariatric mannequin, i.e. a mannequin having a sufficient size and/or weight to simulate an obese human, is transported and/or stored when not in use and may improve the simulation of an anatomically correct weight distribution in such a mannequin.

摘要: Disclosed herein are simulated fibrous tissue models of anatomical parts for surgical training. The non-dissolvable simulated fibrous tissue model is made of a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and fibrous material composite to simulate realistic tissue properties and behaviors. The simulated fibrous tissue model may be a standalone model of an anatomical part or may be used in a complementary anatomical simulation kit to provide a more comprehensive training approach.

摘要: Devices, systems, and methods appropriate for use in medical training using a patient simulator, various anatomical inserts, and an integrated camera and computer system are disclosed. In some instances, a surgical simulator is provided that includes a uterine assembly. The uterine assembly simulates the appearance and feel of natural tissue and includes a plurality of materials arranged and dimensioned to simulate anatomic structures such as a right fallopian tube, a left fallopian tube, a right ovary, a left ovary, a uterus having a cervix, a bladder, ureters, a peritoneum, a uterine artery, a uterine vein, a plurality of ligaments, an ovarian artery, an ovarian vein, a perineum, and a vagina. In some implementations, at least the uterine artery, uterine vein, ovarian artery, and ovarian vein are in communication with a fluid supply such that each is pressurized with a blood-like fluid to simulate natural arteries and veins.

A piece of tissue is attached to the second member such that the piece of tissue overlaps the window portion, and the second member is attached to the first member in a state in which the second member is elastically deformed so that tension acts on the second member.
