    摘要: A thermostat having an electrically insulating housing and a push button extending therein through a bottom wall thereof. Two normally closed contacts, one fixed and the other on a movable carrier with a projection are disposed within the housing. A spring member pivotable about its center portion has an end resting against the push button and an opposite end resting against the movable contact carrier. An electrically insulating sheet is disposed over an open end of the housing with a convex outwardly bimetallic disc over and external to the insulating sheet and a cap disposed over the disc to enclose the disc within the housing. In an alarm status, the disc becomes convex inwardly and pushes against the projection on the movable contact carrier to separate the contacts. To reset, the push button is moved toward the disc and rotates the spring member about its pivot, thereby resetting the disc and pushing the end portion of the spring member against the carrier of the movable contact to maintain the contacts open. The contacts remain open until the push button is released to allow the spring member to rotate away from the carrier for the movable contact and allow the contacts to close, the disc now being in the non-alarm state. In any position of the disc, the spring member holds the contacts open if the pushbutton is pushed in sufficiently to interfere with the normal operation of the disc and contacts.

    摘要: The housing of this thermostat contains a normally closed switch arm, and a bimetallic, temperature-responsive disc, which flexes to open the switch arm and interrupt the associated circuit when the ambient temperature exceeds a predetermined value. An indicator pin, which is mounted to reciprocate in an opening in one end of the housing, may be attached at its inner end to an over-center, snap-acting spring which is mounted in the housing, or the pin may carry a flexible spring member engageable in spaced recesses in the housing. When the metal disc opens the switch arm, the arm shifts the indicator pin outwardly to indicating position against the resistance of the over-center spring, or the flexible spring member, where it is readily viewable. The indicator pin must be manually reset, but the switch are reclosed independently of the indicator pin.

    摘要: A double pole thermostat is disclosed in which two switches are mounted in separate switch cavities separated by insulating material so that arc splatter cannot produce a conductive path between the switches. The switches are sequentially operated by a bimetallic snap disc with a first bumper extending between one switch and the disc, and a second bumper extending between the two switches. The second bumper provides lost motion to insure sequential operation of the switches and to insure that unequal contact wear will not result in one switch blocking the other switch open.
