    摘要: A projection type green cathode ray tube (CRT) with improved brightness despite an increase in the temperature of the faceplate, a method for manufacturing a phosphor screen adopted therein, and a projection video device which utilizes the projection type green CRT. The phosphor screen of the CRT is formed of a cerium-activated calcium sulfide phosphor which contains 0.01 to 0.3 mol% of cerium. According to the method for manufacturing the phosphor screen, the cerium-activated calcium sulfide phosphor is precipitated in a 0.3 to 5% aqueous solution of water glass based on weight. The aqueous solution does not contain barium ions. The projection video device includes the green CRT, a red CRT having a phosphor screen which is formed of an europium-activated yttrium oxide phosphor, and a blue CRT having a phosphor screen which is formed of a silver-activated zinc sulfide phosphor. Brightness of images is improved and does not substantially change over time.

    摘要: A system for selectively reversing the deflection sweep to a yoke coil of a television receiver system in which a double pole-double throw (DP-DT) switch reverses the current to the deflection coil, a solenoid relay actuates the DP-DT switch, and switch control and arrangement means for energizing the solenoid relay during times when power is not applied to the television receiver system. Also the system provides for a four or more sequential position switch in which intermediate portions of the switch perform as a break-before-make (BBM) stage and the outer portions of the switch positions perform as make-before-break (MBB) stages and the switch comprises a DP-DT and a four position switch operable mechanically in tandem.

In a second embodiment, the cathode-ray tube uses a thin membrane screen formed by a thin film dielectric substrate with a refractory metal film deposited on it for producing a flying hot spot.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing storage/display two chamber tubes by providing a molded soft glass envelope with a high outer shoulder at an open end and a low inner shoulder at the same end to form a trough in-between. The trough is filled with liquid metal, having a suitable melting point, such as indium, and the metal is allowed to solidify. A metal ring bearing a membrane for separating the two chambers one from another is placed on the solidified metal with air passages provided between the ring and the trough metal. A faceplate is sealed to the outer shoulder providing a closure of the second chamber and both chambers of the tube are then evacuated through a single tubulation. Finally, the tube is heated to bake out gasses trapped in the walls of the tube and to melt the trough metal. Upon melting, the metal ring settles into the trough metal forming a hermetic seal between the two chambers.
