摘要: A resonance-type contactless power supply has the characteristic that an inductor current has a maximum value when it operates at a resonance frequency. Sampling values of the inductor current in two successive cycles are compared with each other. A frequency of an inverter circuit is adjusted in a manner the same as that in a previous cycle in a case that the inductor current increases, and is adjusted in a manner opposite to that in the previous cycle in a case that the inductor current decreases. Thus, the resonance-type contactless power supply can be properly tuned without the need for zero-crossing detection.

摘要: A power transmission device includes an inverter, an oscillator, a foreign substance detector, and power transmission control circuitry. The foreign substance detector performs a series of multiple processes to determine whether or not a foreign substance is present between two resonators. The power transmission control circuitry repeats a foreign substance detection period and a power transmission period alternately. The foreign substance detection period is a period in which the foreign substance detector performs one of the series of multiple processes. The power transmission period is a period in which the inverter transmits AC power. The power transmission control circuitry also causes the foreign substance detector to divide the series of multiple processes and determine whether or not the foreign substance is present as a result of performing all of the divided series of multiple processes.

摘要: This invention relates to a wireless vehicle recharging apparatus for an energy storage element of a vehicle. The apparatus has at least one drive unit arrangement coupled to at least one drive coil arrangement disposed for generating a magnetic field extending from the drive coil arrangement, and includes a corresponding vehicle-mounted pickup coil arrangement coupled to a power conditioning circuit arrangement for receiving the extending magnetic field. The drive unit arrangement is operable to excite the drive coil arrangement at a fundamental frequency and the drive coil arrangement is implemented to be substantially devoid of ferromagnetic components for providing a path for the extending magnetic field. Additional aspects of the invention relate to vehicle power coupling apparatus including pickup coil arrangements.

摘要: An electrical machine includes as part of its stator XRAM windings for multiplying current output of the machine. The XRAM windings are coupled to switching elements that are configured to produce current multiplication for output to an external load. The XRAM windings may be in slots in the stator, or may be elsewhere in the stator, operatively coupled to other windings in the stator. The stator may be operatively coupled to a rotor and hence to an inertial energy source, such as a flywheel on the same shaft as the elements of the electrical machine. Short circuiting of select windings of the machine can advantageously cause a shifting and concentration of a machine airgap flux of the machine over other windings, and increasing their magnetic storage energy.
