Abstract: Beam failure recovery (BFR) in a multiple Downlink Control Information (mDCI) mode may include receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a Downlink Reference Signal (DL RS) set from a next generation Node B (gNB). The DL RS set may be associated with a link between the UE and the gNB and indicate beam failure detection (BFD) is to be performed for the link. The BFR may further include performing, by the UE, a beam failure detection (BFD) for the link using the DL RS set, and performing, by the UE, a candidate beam detection (CBD) for the link, the CBD determining a candidate beam for the link by determining a beam having a reference signal receiving power (RSRP) that is larger than an RSRP threshold. The BFR may further include transmitting, by the UE, a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating the link to the gNB.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for determining a number of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates and non-overlapped control channel elements (CCEs) for a UE configured with a plurality of component carriers having more than one subcarrier spacing (SCS). The plurality of component carriers are assigned to a number of cell groups. Each cell group includes a scheduling component carrier providing scheduling information for the other component carriers in the cell group. A reference slot window is selected based on an SCS of component carriers assigned to each cell group. And a number of PDCCH candidates and non-overlapped CCEs per the reference slot window are determined based on a number of and SCS of the component carriers in each cell group. Control information in a downlink radio frame is monitored by the UE based on the number of PDCCH candidates and non-overlapped CCEs.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, baseband processors, and methods for performing vehicle-to-everything sidelink communication. A wireless device receives first control information through a sidelink control channel specifying one or more first time slots for the wireless device to transmit a first acknowledgment message over a sidelink feedback channel. The wireless device transmits second control information through the sidelink control channel specifying one or more second time slots for the wireless device to receive a second acknowledgment message over the sidelink feedback channel. The first and second time slots at least partially overlap, and it is determined whether the first data packet or the second data packet has a higher priority. The acknowledgment message associated with the higher priority data packet is transmitted or received during at least a subset of the overlapping time slots.

Abstract: Configuring channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) reporting at a network may include encoding a single CSI-RS reporting configuration for transmission to a user equipment (UE) that is in connected mode with both a first transmission and reception point (TRP) and a second TRP. The single CSI-RS reporting configuration may include a plurality of CSI-RS resource sets. Each of the plurality of CSI-RS resource sets may include a plurality of CSI-RS resources. At least one of the plurality of CSI-RS resource sets may include CSI-RS resources that correspond to the first TRP or the second TRP. A CSI measurement communication received from the UE may be decoded. The CSI measurement communication may be based on the single CSI-RS reporting configuration communication. Based on the CSI measurement communication, one or more downlink data transmissions may be scheduled.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a wireless device of reduced capabilities to access a wireless communication network targeted to operate with wireless device having higher capabilities is disclosed. The device may receive from a base station of the wireless communication network an indication of whether the type of devices that includes the wireless device of reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The device may transmit to the base station signaling associated with connecting to the base station if the base station indicates that the type of devices with reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The signaling allows the device to connect to the base station. The device may transmit capability information of the device to the base station. The device may configure its features based on the capability information to communicate with the base station.

Abstract: Various techniques are presented to improve phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) performance with respect to very high frequency communications. According to some embodiments, increased power boosting may be applied to improve PTRS performance, while still keeping power spectral density (PSD) within ETSI Broadband Radio Access Networks (BRAN) limits. In some cases, the power boosting may be semi-static and/or dynamic. In other embodiments, the improved performance may be achieved by dynamically changing time and/or frequency density of the PTRS. In other embodiments, a multi-port configuration may be used for the downlink PTRS. In other embodiments, one or more PTRS configurations may be determined per SCS and/or frequency band, e.g., based on traffic type, channel priority, parameters signaled in the slot format indication (SFI), etc. In other embodiments, common phase error (CPE) estimates may be obtained for those OFDM symbols without PTRS by interpolating the available PTRS estimates in the time domain.
