Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for hybrid measurement gap operation. A network-side device may provide a hybrid measurement gap (MG) configuration to a wireless device, the hybrid measurement gap (MG) configuration scheduling measurement operation of the wireless device in accordance with hybrid measurement gap patterns. The wireless device may receive the hybrid measurement gap (MG) configuration, and thus perform measurement operation based on the hybrid measurement gap patterns as scheduled.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device is disclosed. The UE device comprises a processor configured to perform operations comprising receiving a downlink control information (DCI) from a base station. In some embodiments, the DCI comprises an indication to trigger a Type-3 hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) feedback signal. The operations further comprise generating the Type-3 HARQ ACK feedback signal, based on processing the DCI. In some embodiments, the Type-3 HARQ ACK feedback signal comprises one or more HARQ-ACK bits for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) release(s). In some embodiments, each of the one or more HARQ-ACK bits for SPS PDSCH release(s) is adapted to include HARQ-ACK information for an SPS PDSCH release associated with the UE. Further, the operations comprise sending the Type-3 HARQ-ACK feedback signal to the base station.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to perform gradual timing adjustments in a non-terrestrial wireless communication system. According to the techniques described herein, a wireless device may establish a non-terrestrial network based wireless link with a cellular base station. The wireless device may detect a trigger for changing a gradual timing adjustment rate from a first gradual timing adjustment rate to a second gradual timing adjustment rate. The wireless device may determine a time window for which to perform gradual timing adjustment at the second gradual timing adjustment rate. The wireless device may perform gradual timing adjustment at the second gradual timing adjustment rate for the time window.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancement in NTN mobility. A cellular base station may serve as a source base station of a handover procedure from the source base station to a target non-terrestrial network (NTN) base station. The cellular base station may configure a parameter associated with the target NTN base station in a handover command, the parameter being related to NTN mobility, and send the handover command to a wireless device for use by the wireless device during the handover procedure. The wireless device may receive the handover command from the cellular base station, and perform the handover procedure using the parameter associated with the target NTN base station.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the use of measurement object having multiple synchronization signal block (SSB)-based measurement timing configurations (SMTCs) indicating a same periodicity and different offsets are disclosed herein. In some of these cases, a wireless communications network can provide a user equipment (UE) with a measurement object (MO) having up to a total number of total SMTCs. or having SMTC sets each of up to a predetermined number of SMTCs. UE determinations regarding a number of the SMTCs to use to perform one or more corresponding SSB measurements during a period of a periodicity indicated by one or more SMTCs of an MO are also discussed. The use of scheduling restrictions by the UE based on non-terrestrial network (NTN) characteristics of one or more of a serving cell and a neighbor cell to be measured are also discussed.

Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein describe the use of synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block measurement time configuration (SMTC) 2 low power (SMTC2-LP) configuration(s). For cell measurements, a UE may determine that an SMTC2-LP configuration for one or more carriers of one or more target cells is known, determine a periodicity of SMTC occasions of the carrier(s) based on data found in the SMTC2-LP configuration(s), and cancel a cell measurement of an inter-frequency cell based at least in part on the periodicity of the SMTC occasion(s). For cell re-selection, a UE may determine that an SMTC2-LP configuration for a carrier being used at a target cell is known and that a physical cell identity (PCI) of the target cell is found in data of the SMTC2-LP configuration, determine a maximum paging interruption time using this periodicity, and perform a cell reselection to the target cell within this time.

Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing uplink (UL) gaps to facilitate user equipment (UE) calibration are disclosed herein. A UE determines one or more slot patterns of a slot configuration that is repeated during time division duplex (TDD) communication with a base station. The UE determines a UL gap periodicity (defining periods covering an integer number of repetitions of the slot configuration). The UE then performs UE calibration during one or more semi-persistently configured UL slots of a period of the UL gap periodicity that correspond to UL indication(s) in one or more of a common configuration, a dedicated configuration, and/or a slot format indication (SFI) downlink control information (DCI) for the slot pattern(s) of the slot configuration. Methods of identifying particular semi-persistently configured UL slots of a period to use for the UL gap are also discussed. UL slot indications from dynamic DCI are not used for UL gap purposes.
