    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments are directed an application program configured to run on a user's mobile device can allow voice-activated call pick-up to the user, without the user having to use his or her hands for picking up the call. For example, the application program can initially be trained to a user's voice command. When an incoming call is received at the mobile device, the user can pick up the call by issuing a voice command. In some embodiments, the application program can determine whether to allow voice-activated pick-up of calls based on data collected from multiple sensors associated with the vehicle, the mobile device, or a remote source.

    Abstract: A computer network security manager device connects to a first wireless router and then connects to a plurality of devices (e.g., a plurality of IoT devices). The computer network security manager device then performs device agnostic activation of the plurality of devices to enable the plurality of devices to perform respective functions of each device. The security manager device prevents the plurality of devices from connecting directly to the first wireless router and only allows other devices on the Internet to communicate with the plurality of devices according to specific firewall rules. In response to receiving an indication that the first wireless router to which the network security manager device is connected is out of service or no longer exists, the network security manager device prevents other devices on the Internet from being able to communicate with the plurality of devices.

    Abstract: Providing of relevant information to a responder is described. A responder system receives alert data identifying an incident location. Available relevant data for the incident location is stored in the responder system. When relevant data is not stored, relevant data for the incident location is obtained from an external data source and stored in the responder system. While proceeding to the incident location and based on the alert data and the relevant data, initial augmented reality information is prepared for presentation to a responder. Upon arriving at the incident location, second augment reality information is generated. Upon arriving within a localized area of the incident location, an IoT device operable within the localized area is identified and selected and a communications link therewith is established. First IoT device data is received from the selected IoT device, and based thereon third augmented reality information is generated.

    Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for intelligent ad-based routing. In example aspects, a destination input, desired time for arrival, and user profile data is received in a ride-sharing application. The input data is classified by applying one or more machine-learning models to the data. Based on the classified data results, candidate physical advertisement locations may be selected along a certain route. Different types of routes may be selected that range from the shortest possible route (i.e., a direct route) to a major detour (i.e., the most cost-effective route). A major detour takes the user on a route that exposes the user to as many advertisements as possible while still arriving at the final destination before the desired time of arrival. In exchange for a longer route and more exposure to physical advertisements, the cost of the ride may be offset. While the user is in proximity to the physical advertisement along the route, businesses associated with the physical advertisement locations may transmit real-time advertisements/messages to the user to be displayed on a user device, a vehicular device, and/or a combination of the two. During the ride, the real-time business information may be received that may alter the route to maximize the effectiveness of real-time advertisement delivery.

    Abstract: Novel techniques are described for networked aggregation of distributed localized particulate air pollutant (LPAP) sensors. For example, a large number of sensors is distributed over a geographic region. Each sensor can detect local levels of one or more LPAPs, and can communicate the detected levels over one or more communications networks. A system can receive data samples for the LPAP levels from the sensors and can compute LPAP scores that are mapped to respective sub-regions of the geographic region. The computation can be a function of aggregating respective LPAP levels for at least those LPAP sensors in a particular sub-region of the geographic region, and also as a function of comparing the aggregation against an identified set of trigger thresholds for the LPAP of interest. In some cases, the computed and mapped LPAP scores can be output for display, for example, as a heat map, or the like.

    Abstract: Systems, devices and processes reduce the amount of memory or disk space needed to store encoded video content used in adaptive video streaming by eliminating certain portions of the recorded program from one or more copies of the encoded program. Content occurring before or after a scheduled start of a program, for example, can be retained in only a subset of the encoded copies so that the program content is available to be streamed, but only at certain video qualities. Commercials or other less popular portions may also be eliminated in one or more encoded copies. By eliminating the less-likely-to-be-viewed portions of the content from some (but not all) of the encoded copies, the total amount of storage space needed to store the encoded program is reduced without compromising the ability to play back all portions of the recorded program.
