摘要： There is provided apparatus comprising a user interface for displaying a plurality of items. The apparatus is arranged: a) to receive at least one instruction, by which instruction or instructions, one or more of a plurality of items initially displayed on the user interface is or are categorized as an item or items to be hidden and the remaining one or more of the plurality of items initially displayed on the user interface is or are categorized as an item or items to be displayed; b) to receive an instruction to hide, from the user interface, the one or more items to be hidden; and c) to hide from the user interface, the one or more items to be hidden, such that the item or items categorized as items to be displayed are displayed on the user interface, and the item or items categorized as items to be hidden are not displayed on the user interface. In one preferred arrangement, the apparatus is an electronic device. There is also provided a method for hiding one or more items of a plurality of items displayed on a user interface for a user apparatus. Again, the user apparatus may be an electronic device. There is further provided a method for selecting a new password or entering a predetermined password on a user apparatus. The user apparatus may be an electronic device for storing electronic files.

摘要： A system and method are disclosed for transient detection and modification in audio signals. Digital signal processing techniques are used to detect transients and modify an audio signal to enhance or suppress such transients, as desired. A transient audio event is detected in a first portion of the audio signal. A graded response to the detected transient audio event is determined. The first portion of the audio signal is modified in accordance with the graded response. The extent of enhancement or suppression (as applicable) may be determined at least in part by a measure of the significance or magnitude of the transient.

A portion of the audio signal that is associated with the detected pitch is modified. Controlling the modification of a primary audio signal is disclosed. The level of a secondary audio signal is monitored. Modification of the primary audio signal is enabled if the level of the secondary audio signal rises above a first prescribed threshold at a time when the primary audio signal is not being modified. Modification of the primary audio signal is disabled if the level of the secondary audio signal drops below a second prescribed threshold at a time when the primary audio signal is being modified.
