    摘要: A game attracting apparatus comprises a pole, a flag and an actuator. The pole has a lower end and a top end displaced from the lower end. The flag includes a tip, a mounting location, an outer side and an underside. The flag is configured to resemble the shape and color of a deer's tail when viewed from the underside and is mounted at the mounting location to the pole at a location above the lower end. The actuator is coupled to the flag adjacent the tip of the flag. The flag, pole and actuator are configured to induce the flag to hang from the pole with the tip downward so that the outer side is presented toward a desired direction when the actuator is not actuated and so that, during actuation of the actuator, the tip of the flag moves upwardly so that the underside of the flag is presented toward the desired direction.

    摘要: A method of mitigating proppant settling in a hydraulic fracture in order to better suspend the proppant as well as ensure a more uniform pack, by mixing a pre-determined volume percent of low density additive, such as glass beads or other suitable material, such as polylactic acid particles, into the fracturing slurry along with the standard high-density proppant, it is anticipated that density gradients can be induced inside the fracture. Upward movement of low density additive due to them having density lower than the carrier fluid will interfere with downward movement of high-density proppant and vice versa. This mutual interference between the two proppants confined in the narrow fracture will significantly hinder the settling/segregation of the high-density proppant. The low density material has a specific gravity of about 0.3, particle size distribution similar to that of standard proppant, and sufficient mechanical strength to survive fracture closure stress.

    摘要: An implant for insertion between vertebral bodies in a patient includes a flexible tether that is coupled between fasteners attached to the vertebral bodies. An energy storing device may be coupled to the tether to convert extension forces between the vertebral bodies into potential energy. The energy storing device may reduce defects at the interface between the fasteners and the vertebral bodies. Various embodiments are provided, including energy storing devices implemented as springs, leaf springs, coiled wire, and corrugated shapes. The energy storing device may be preloaded between the vertebral bodies to further reduce shock from sudden extensions. The energy storing device may be secured to the tether before or after the tether is secured to the fasteners. Further, the energy storing device may be sized to allow the tether and energy storing device to pass laterally through a fastener opening.

    摘要: An apparatus suitable for retaining an electronic component such as a flash memory card within a socket attached to a system motherboard. The apparatus includes a housing that defines an aperture or slot suitably sized for receiving a distal end of the component and at least one arm extending from a first surface of the housing. A distal end of the arm receives a structural element of the system frame. Displacement of the apparatus housing relative to the structural element is restricted when the electronic component is received within the housing and the structural element is received within the receiving structure. The receiving structure may include an upper tab and a lower tab suitably displaced from one another to engage a sheet metal element of the data processing system frame. The arms may comprise a flexible material wherein application of a compressive force on the two arms disengages the tabs from the structural element.

    摘要: A method and implementing computer system enclosure is provided which includes a selectively removable base support unit which is designed to stabilize vertical mounting capabilities when the base unit is attached to the enclosure and to allow horizontal mounting of the electronics enclosure when the base unit is detached. The electronics enclosure includes a locking edge on one of its sides. The locking edge is selectively engageable with a base support unit to provide a wide footprint for stable mounting of the electronics enclosure on the side of the enclosure which has the base unit attached. In an exemplary embodiment, the locking edge is tapered to force a tight fit between the enclosure and the support base unit. A locking mechanism is also operable at one end of the support base unit-electronics enclosure interface to provide a positive stop to lock the enclosure in place relative to the support base unit.

    摘要: A shear resisting member of a frame structure is formed from four triangular cross-section beams, each beam or stud formed from a single piece of cold formed sheet steel which is bent lengthwise along four parallel lines to form a triangular cross-section with two wings or flanges, side-by-side, extending from its apex. Within the frame structure of the shear resisting member, two frame beams have first beam lengths corresponding to the longer dimension of the opening in the wall to be reinforced, which are disposed parallel to each other. The other two beams have second beam lengths substantially shorter than the first beam lengths, the second beam length corresponding to the spacing between the frame studs or truss members of the structure being reinforced. Gussets are attached along the lengths of the wings or flanges of the second beams and the ends of the first beams to fasten the frame structure together. A plurality of strut members span the interior edges of the first beams to form an open web between the two first beams. The strut members, each formed from sheet steel folded or creased to form triangular cross-sections, are fastened to the first beams at angles to provide shear resistance in a plurality of different directions. Existing structures are retrofitted to provide reinforcement against shear forces. Weight-bearing walls are identified and interior wall paneling such as dry wall is removed to expose the frame along sections of the wall. A shear panel is selected to have horizontal dimensions to fit between two adjacent wall studs, and vertical dimensions to extend from the foundation or floor joist to the roof truss or floor joist of an upper story for multi-level structures. The original wall studs are removed and the panel is inserted along with replacement wall studs.

    摘要: The salesperson sets a predetermining counter on the amount required. The minnows are then placed in the separating tank where they are moved through two funnels at each end of the tank via water force on and through a sensing area where their presence is registered and thus counted.Movement of the minnows from the separating tank is effected by a combination of whirlpool current and natural habitat effect draw the minnows through clear flexible plastic tubing. The fluid current now confined to one solid stream moves the minnows through the sensor area on and to the holding tank. The minnows are caught in a wire mesh strainer basket in the holding tank, which allows the water to continue to circulate through the drain pipe from the holding tank to pump and reservoir tank. The water is then recycled through the pump back to the separator tank.When the counter reaches zero, normally open contacts close, causing the solenoid valve to shut off the flow of water and minnows, also de-energizing the pump. The counted minnows caught in the strainer basket are ready for dumping into the customer's minnow container.
