摘要: Subject matter disclosed herein may generally relate to docking systems, and more particularly, to docking systems for portable computing devices such as, for example, tablet computing devices. The docking system may include (1) an enclosure for the portable computing device and (2) a base, where the enclosure can be docked to the base. A communication channel can be established between the portable computing device and the base via the enclosure and an electrical connection that exists when the enclosure is docked with the base. Through the communication channel, data such as credential data can be passed from the portable computing device to the base. The base can control whether the enclosure is permitted to be undocked from the base based on this credential data.

摘要: A docking system may comprise a case mount for a portable computing device. The case mount can releasably dock and lock with a base mount in any of a number of docking position orientations. A plurality of case mount contacts can be organized into a plurality of case mount contact groups, wherein the case mount contact groups are arranged in a pattern on the case mount that permits a physical connection between a plurality of base mount contacts and a different one of the case mount contact groups for each of the different docking position orientations. Furthermore, an actuator can cause base mount latches to move in a manner that permits disengagement of the case mount from the base mount to an undocked position for the case mount if an undocking force is applied to the case mount.

The tasks relating to fob authentication are offloaded to a computer system, and these authentications can be based on identifiers for the different security fobs. The computer system can maintain a list of identifiers for authorized security fobs that is easily updated when new security fobs are added to or existing security fobs are de-authorized from the system.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to security systems and, more particularly, to a power and/or alarming security system for electrical appliances. In an example embodiment, an apparatus comprises a socket and a circuit. The socket can be configured for detachable electrical connection with an electrical appliance. The circuit can be configured to (1) provide power to a connected electrical appliance through the socket, and (2) calibrate an alarm limit for a security function for the socket based on a plurality of electrical characteristics of the connected electrical appliance that are measured via the socket, wherein the electrical characteristics comprise an admittance characteristic and a current draw characteristic of the connected electrical appliance. Furthermore, the circuit can calibrate the alarm limit for the socket according to a plurality of calibration phases.
