摘要: Described herein is a packing box for mounting on a machinery shaft. In accordance with one aspect, the packing box housing defines a central opening for insertion of a movable machinery shaft with a hollow passageway surrounding the central opening to form a path for the flow of a fluid coolant. The passageway is provided with a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port opening onto the outer surface of the packing box housing, and it is formed by a single conduit or by a plurality of conduits obtained through additive manufacturing process and connected in series or in parallel to wound around the central opening.

摘要: Method for the additive production of three-dimensional articles is disclosed. A powder layer of nickel-based metal alloy having a specific composition is scanned with an energy source so as to melt the powder in at least one point of the layer. Afterwards the energy source is removed from this point so as to solidify the metal alloy and form a layer with a desired shape. Also disclosed are articles obtainable by this method.

摘要: A double suction impeller is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the impeller is configured for centrifugal pumps and hydraulic power recovery turbines. The impeller's flow-path arrangement comprises inter-blade channels, intersecting each other at the impeller's outer diameter and defining a variable cross section shape, so that the equivalent number of blades is at least doubled with respect to a conventional configuration obtained by the coupling of two single suction impellers and an improved control over the velocity of the flow within the inter-blade channels is achieved.
