Abstract: A light source includes a first LED to provide light of a first light wavelength spectrum along a first light path; a second LED to provide light of a second light wavelength spectrum along a second light path; a dichroic filter for passing light emitted from at least one of the first LED and the second LED and reflecting light emitted from at least one of the first LED and the second LED; an optical filter movable between a first position in which the optical filter receives light from the first light path and a second position of which the optical filter does not receive light from the first light path; a light output; a controller which is capable of switching the light source between a first mode for providing a first light to the light output and a second mode for providing a second light to the light output.

Abstract: A system including an instrument adapted to be manually supported and moved by a user. The instrument having a hand-held portion, a drive mechanism movably coupled to the hand-held portion, and a plurality of actuators operatively coupled to the drive mechanism for moving the drive mechanism in at least two degrees of freedom relative to the hand-held portion. The instrument also includes a tracking device for tracking the instrument and a working portion removably coupled to the drive mechanism by a coupling assembly. The system further comprises a navigation system for determining a position of the working portion and a bone to be cut during the medical procedure and a control system in communication with the actuators and configured to control the actuators to actively position the working portion such that the working portion is substantially maintained on a plane.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a support structure having a patient support deck and a side rail coupled to the support structure. The side rail is movable relative to the support structure. A lock releasably locks the side rail in one or more side rail positions, such as in a raised position and an intermediate position. A manual release is coupled to the side rail and operable to unlock the side rail. A bypass lever is provided to allow a user to raise the side rail from a lowered position to the raised position without locking in the intermediate position. A damper is located inside the side rail to counterbalance the weight of the side rail and assist the user in raising the side rail, bi-directionally. The side rail is formed of first and second walls that are heat staked together to form a lightweight side rail of suitable strength.

Abstract: A patient transport apparatus for supporting a patient and a patient treatment device. The patient transport apparatus includes a seat assembly having a seat frame. A fowler assembly having a fowler frame is coupled to seat frame and is moveable relative to the seat assembly. The seat and fowler assemblies support the patient. A fowler actuator moves the fowler frame relative to the seat frame. A support frame assembly is coupled to the fowler frame. The support frame assembly includes a handle extending from the fowler frame and has a grasping portion spaced from the fowler frame. A mounting member is coupled to the handle. The mounting member defines a brace surface shaped for supporting the patient treatment device. The brace surface is spaced from a grasping portion of the handle to permit a user to grab the handle while supporting the patient treatment device.

Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for performing three-dimensional measurements of a surgical space using two-dimensional endoscopic images. According to an aspect, video data taken from an endoscopic imaging device can be used to generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space represented by the video data. In one or more examples, two-dimensional images from the video data can be used to generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space. In one or more examples, the one or more two-dimensional images of the surgical space can include a fiducial marker as part of the image. Using both the depth information and a size reference provided by the fiducial marker, the systems and methods herein can generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space. The generated three-dimensional model can then be used to perform a variety of three-dimensional measurements in a surgical cavity in an accurate and efficient manner.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus for transporting a patient over a floor surface is described herein. The patient support apparatus includes a drive system with a drive member, a user interface arranged for selective user engagement by a user to operate the drive system, and a control system for operating the drive system. The control system includes a processor configured to determine that the patient transport apparatus is traveling on an inclined floor surface, monitor the user interface for changes in user engagement by a user, and operate the drive system to decelerate the drive member to one of a plurality of positions based on the changes in user engagement.
