摘要: Systems and methods employing a small gauge steerable catheter including a locatable guide with a sheath, particularly as an enhancement to a bronchoscope. A typical procedure is as follows. The location of a target in a reference coordinate system is detected or imported. The catheter is navigated to the target which tracking the distal tip of the guide in the reference coordinate system. Insertion of the catheter is typically via a working channel of a convention bronchoscope. Once the tip of the catheter is positioned at the target, the guide is withdrawn, leaving the sheath secured in place. The sheath is then used as a guide channel to direct a medical tool to target.

摘要: Described embodiments include a system that includes an electrical interface and a processor. The processor is configured to receive, via the electrical interface, an electrocardiographic signal from an electrode within a heart of a subject, to ascertain a location of the electrode in a coordinate system of a computerized model of a surface of the heart, to select portions of the model responsively to the ascertained location, such that the selected portions are interspersed with other, unselected portions of the model, and to display the model such that the selected portions, but not the unselected portions, are marked to indicate a property of the signal. Other embodiments are also described.

摘要: Disclosed herein are methods of manufacturing an oral appliance, the method comprising the steps of: a) importing into a computer aided design (CAD) computer program a digitized data set obtained from a three-dimensional scan of a patient's dentition; b) preparing a three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition; c) subtracting the three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition from an image of a solid block to obtain an appliance data set; and d) manufacturing a dental appliance in accordance with the appliance data set. Also disclosed are devices made by the above method, and methods of treating a condition, for example a sleep breathing disorder, by using a device made by the above method.

摘要: A method, system and apparatus for surface rendering using medical imaging data is provided. A display device is controlled to render a first model of imaging data showing depth positions corresponding to a given surface threshold value, and further controlled to replace the first model with a second model of the imaging data showing respective depth positions corresponding to the given surface threshold value, the second model being faster to compute than the first model. The given surface threshold value is changed to an updated surface threshold value, for example using a slider input. The display device updates rendering of the second model to show updated respective depth positions corresponding to the updated surface threshold value. When an acceptance is received, the display device is controlled to replace the second model with the first model showing updated depth positions corresponding to the updated surface threshold value.

摘要: Various systems and methods are provided for surgical and interventional planning, support, post-operative follow-up, and functional recovery tracking. In general, a patient can be tracked throughout medical treatment including through initial onset of symptoms, diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment. In one embodiment, a patient and one or more medical professionals involved with treating the patient can electronically access a comprehensive treatment planning, support, and review system. The system can provide recommendations regarding diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment based on data gathered from the patient and the medical professional(s). The system can manage the tracking of multiple patients, thereby allowing for data comparison between similar aspects of medical treatments and for learning over time through continual data gathering, analysis, and assimilation to decision-making algorithms.

摘要: Systems and methods for guiding a surgical procedure based on a surgical procedure plan may include an image capture device that captures one or more images of an exposed anatomical feature of a patient. These systems and methods may also include a computing device configured to receive a surgical procedure plan based on one or more desired attributes related to an anatomical 3D model representing the exposed anatomical feature of the patient. The computing device may register the anatomical 3D model to the exposed anatomical feature of the patient based on the one or more images of the exposed anatomical feature and a projector may further provide surgical guidance information to a surgeon based on the surgical procedure plan to facilitate performance of the surgical procedure.

摘要: This invention pertains a system and methods for ablation treatment of tissues. The invention aims to improve current models that allow predicting the volume and geometry of thermal ablations. Particularly the invention consists in a method that allows accounting for effects that occur when vapor that forms at the ablation site is able to seep in cavities that might encroach the ablation site and to deliver heat to the tissues of those cavities, creating an ablation geometry that is not described by current ablation models.

摘要: A method of planning path for a surgical instrument is provided for use during a surgical procedure. The method includes identifying a treatment target in images of a patient to be treated during a surgical procedure, determining dimensions of the patient, a surgical instrument, and an external obstruction, and determining a path to guide the surgical instrument to the treatment target during the surgical procedure. The surgical instrument is configured to be used during the surgical procedure. The external obstruction is an object external to the patient's body that interferes with one or more potential paths of the surgical instrument. The path is determined such that the surgical instrument avoids the external obstruction based on the determined dimensions of the surgical instrument and the determined dimensions of the external obstruction.

摘要: This invention relates to a method of preoperative planning to correct spine misalignment of a patient, comprising a step of making a translation and a rotation, in a sagittal plane, of each vertebra of a set of several cervical and/or thoracic and/or lumbar imaged spine vertebrae, so that said set of imaged vertebrae presents afterwards, in the sagittal plane, the same cervical lordosis and/or the same thoracic kyphosis and/or the same lumbar lordosis as a model adapted for said patient, wherein it also comprises, before said step of making said translation and said rotation in a sagittal plane: a step of making a translation and a rotation, in a coronal plane, of each vertebra of said set of several cervical and/or thoracic and/or lumbar imaged spine vertebrae, so that said set of imaged vertebrae becomes straight in said coronal plane, and of making a rotation, in an axial plane, of each vertebra of said set of several cervical and/or thoracic and/or lumbar imaged spine vertebrae, so that said set of imaged vertebrae becomes axially aligned.
