摘要: Robotic surgical procedures are successively performed on a patient's bony anatomy by engaging the patient's bony anatomy with a first tool or implant coupled to a first surgical robotic arm to perform a first procedure. A second tool or implant coupled to a second surgical robotic arm is then used to perform a second procedure while the first surgical robotic arm and the first tool or implant remain engaged with the patient's bony anatomy to stabilize the bony anatomy while the second procedure is being performed with the second surgical robotic arm and second tool or implant.

摘要: A method and system for performing hip arthroplasty include analyzing images of a patient's hip joint in a plurality of positions to identify preoperative hip geometry. A statistical patient model predicts prosthetic hip implant performance based on the preoperative knee geometry and given prosthetic knee implant implantation parameters for a plurality of selected patient activities, each having a predefined motion profile to calculate an optimized surgical plan for performing the procedure using a computer assisted surgical system, which may use fiducial markers affixed to patient tissue. Hip geometry can be determined by angles between landmarks in the images, including sacral tilt, pelvic incidence, pelvic femoral angle, and ante-inclination angle in x-ray images. Implant performance criteria can include, for example, edge loading and range of motion of implant components.

摘要: Disclosed is an isolated interface circuit for a modular energy system. A comparator is configured to couple to a switch and a reference voltage, and an output. A duplicate comparator is configured to couple to the switch and the reference voltage. An expander circuit is coupled to the comparator and the duplicate comparator. An isolator circuit is coupled to the expander circuit. A controller is coupled to the isolator circuit. The controller is configured to compare the output of the comparator with the output of the duplicate comparator and determine activation or deactivation of a surgical instrument coupled to the controller based on the comparison.

摘要: A system to treat a patient comprises a user interface that allows a physician to view an image of tissue to be treated in order to develop a treatment plan to resect tissue with a predefined removal profile. The image may comprise a plurality of images, and the planned treatment is shown on the images. The treatment probe may comprise an anchor, and the image shown on the screen may have a reference image marker shown on the screen corresponding to the anchor. The planned tissue removal profile can be displayed and scaled to the image of the target tissue of an organ such as the prostate, and the physician can adjust the treatment profile based on the scaled images to provide a treatment profile in three dimensions. The images shown on the display may comprise segmented images of the patient with treatment plan overlaid on the images.

摘要: A mobile bilateral robotic surgery system is provided. The system may be optimized for robotic spinal surgery. The system comprises a mobile cart configured to be deployable under a surgical table, and particular a spinal surgery table. The mobile cart does not need to be affixed to the floor or the surgical table. The cart comprises multiple robotic arms that can be folded beside or into the cart so as to allow for deployment under the surgical table. The robotic arms may be relatively short and light compared to known systems and are deployed to either side of the patient. This allows for the highly accurate performance of a wide range of surgical procedures. The mobile cart further comprises a central control unit that facilitates the system knowing the position of the robotic arms. The system further optionally comprises a robotic navigation capability that augments the abilities of the system in locating features of a patient's anatomy and tools being used in a surgical procedure.

摘要: A surgical navigation and planning system is disclosed. The system may include at least one processor, and a storage medium storing programming instructions. The programming instructions may cause the processor to receive patient-specific vertebrae information include at least one image which may be acquired by an X-ray. The system may perform segmentation of objects in the at least one image and automatically select a set of objects for planning an optimal trajectory to a location proximal the vertebrae level. The system may determine boundary dimensions of an interbody implant, a first entry incision location and a first path for the interbody implant from the first entry incision location to the location proximal the vertebrae level. The system may calculate a plurality of clearance distances between the boundary dimensions and the set of objects. The set of objects may include the psoas muscle, Aorta, and/or Vena Cava.
