摘要: The present invention is an apparatus which executes a photogrammetry method for calculating soil density. After a user excavates soil, measures the mass of the excavated soil and takes multiple images of the excavation site in combination with a calibration object, a data processor uses the various values obtained from the collected images to create a point cloud data object. The processor used this point cloud data object to create a visual representation of the hole. The processor rotates and scales the visual representation. The processor also uses the point cloud data object in volumetric calculations to determine the volume of the hole. Together with the soil mass, the volume allows calculation of soil density.

摘要: A phase-resolved heterodyne shearing interferometer has been developed for high-rate, whole field observations of transient surface motion. The sensor utilizes polarization multiplexing and multiple carrier frequencies to separate each segment of a shearing Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Post-processing routines have been developed to recombine the segments by extracting the scattered object phase from Doppler shifted intermediate carrier frequencies, providing quantitative relative phase changes and information to create variable shear, phase resolved shearographic fringe patterns without temporal or spatial phase shifting.

摘要: Various embodiments associated with use of an echo signal are described. A plurality of sensors can be deployed to obtain editions of a signal of interest. The signal of interest may be so far away from the sensors that the editions collected are too noisy to be analyzed. A processing center can send an echo signal to the sensors and the sensors can respond to the processing center with a signal edition of the signal of interest and the echo signal. Since the processing center knows information about the echo signal, offsets among the sensors can be calculated based on the returned echo signals. These offsets can then be used to align the signal editions. At the processing center, the aligned signal editions can be combined into a combined signal and a demodulation scheme for the combined signal can be determined and then used for demodulation of the signal.

摘要: A laboratory system has demonstrated the measurement of three degrees of vibrational freedom simultaneously using a single beam through heterodyne speckle imaging. The random interference pattern generated by the illumination of a rough surface with coherent light can be exploited to extract information about the surface motion. The optical speckle pattern is heterodyne mixed with a coherent reference. The recorded optical data is then processed to extract three dimensions of surface motion. Axial velocity is measured by demodulating the received time-varying intensity of high amplitude pixels. Tilt, a gradient of surface velocity, is calculated by measuring speckle translation following reconstruction of the speckle pattern from the mixed signal.

摘要: A fragmentation pattern is formed on a surface of a warhead using a lithographic process. A photoresistant material is coated on an interior surface of the warhead casing. A portion of the photoresistant material is selectively cured by projecting an image of the fragmentation pattern onto the photoresistant material. The uncured portion of the photoresistant material is removed and an etchant is applied to the exposed portion of the warhead casing surface thereby etching the fragmentation pattern. Alternatively, a protective coating is applied over the entire surface thereby creating the fragmentation pattern.
