Abstract: Electronic devices and methods for compensating for noise in a display that includes sensing a current in a sensing channel of the display. Compensating for the noise also includes sensing an observation current from noise in an observation channel of the display and scaling the observation current to generate a scaled observation current. The scaled observation current is subtracted from the sense current to generate a compensated output. The compensated output is used to drive compensation operations of the display based at least in part on the compensated output to reduce effects of the noise.

The display panel includes a plurality of pixels, each of which includes a driving thin-film-transistor (TFT) configured to receive driving data related to the operation of a respective pixel and a light-emitting diode configured to emit light based on the driving data provided to the TFT. The display panel also includes compensation circuitry configured to generate offset data from compressed offset data and apply the offset data to the pixel data to generate the driving data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for differential sensing (DS), difference-differential sensing (DDS), correlated double sampling (CDS), and/or programmable capacitor matching to reduce display panel sensing noise. An electronic device may include one or more processors and an electronic display. The one or more processors may generate image data and adjust the image data based at least in part on display sensing feedback. The electronic display may employ sensing circuitry that obtains the display sensing feedback at least in part by applying test data to a pixel of a column of an active area of the display and differentially senses an electrical value of the pixel in comparison to a reference signal from a different column. This reference signal may provide a common mode noise reference, which is removed by the differential sensing and thereby enhances a quality of the sensed electrical value of the pixel.

Abstract: A touch screen display may include gate line driver circuitry coupled to a display pixel array. The display may be provided with intra-frame pausing (IFP) capabilities, where touch or other operations may be performed during one or more intra-frame blanking intervals. In one suitable arrangement, a gate driver may be operable in a high impedance mode, where the output of the gate driver is left floating during touch or IFP intervals. In another suitable arrangement, the gate driver may be operable in an IFP reduced stress mode, where a digital pass gate in the gate driver is deactivated during IFP intervals. In yet another suitable arrangement, the gate driver may be operable in an all-gate-high (AGH) power-down mode, where the output of each gate driver in the driver circuitry is driven high in parallel when the displayed is being powered off. These arrangements may be implemented in any suitable combination.

Abstract: A method for pre-charging a display panel may include simultaneously charging the display panel that displays image data and receives one or more touch inputs via a first voltage source and a capacitor that provides a first voltage to the display panel via a second voltage source. The first voltage is associated with receiving the one or more touch inputs, and the display panel and the capacitor are simultaneously charged for a first amount of time. The method may then include charging the display panel via the capacitor after the first amount of time for a second amount of time and charging the display panel via the second voltage source after the second amount of time for a third amount of time.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently generating display driver timing signals are provided. In one example, display driver circuitry of an electronic display may provide a negative voltage from a negative voltage supply to display control circuitry during a first period and may provide a positive voltage from a positive voltage supply to the display control circuitry during a second period. After providing the negative voltage during the first period but before providing the positive voltage during the second period, the display driver circuitry may precharge the capacitance of the display control circuitry to ground. In this way, the positive voltage supply substantially does not supply charge to raise the voltage on the capacitance of the display control circuitry from the negative voltage to ground.

Abstract: An electronic display may include pixel circuitry to display an image based on image data compensated for voltage variations within the pixel circuitry. Image processing circuitry may generate a compensation value to compensate the image data for cross-talk (e.g., electromagnetic coupling between an electrode of touch sensor circuitry and an electrode of the pixel circuitry) that may cause the voltage variations. Additionally or alternatively, the image processing circuitry may generate another compensation value to compensate the image data for another cross-talk (e.g., electromagnetic coupling between two electrodes of the pixel circuitry). The image processing circuitry may generate the compensated image data based on the first compensation value and/or the second compensation value.
