Abstract:
A heavy duty pneumatic tire having a tread provided on its outer surface with at least one circumferential groove. On the groove wall multiple projecting blocks are provided at an interval between the adjoining projecting blocks in the circumferential direction corresponding to 10-50% of the circumferential length of the projecting block and between the projecting blocks on the opposite groove walls a narrower groove is formed circumferentially having the open groove width corresponding to 5-50% of the open groove width of the above mentioned wider circumferential groove.
Abstract:
A video disc reproducing apparatus is provided with a pickup by which the information recorded on a video disc is detected as a variation in electrostatic capacity. The signal output from the pickup is processed so as to generate a control signal proportional to the logarithm of the pickup signal. This control signal is then utilized to control the pressure of the pickup on the video disc. Element functions of the apparatus may be combined such that an automatic gain control device may also serve to generate the logarithmic control signal.
Abstract:
A knocking detecting device for an internal combustion engine including: a casing in the form of an annular member fastened substantially perpendicularly to an outer sidewall of the engine block; a support member made of a vibration-isolating material such as rubber or synthetic resin, and having one end fastened to the casing and the other end projecting a predetermined distance from the outer sidewall of the engine block to a position within a water chamber or a coolant water passage; a pressure-sensitive member including pressure-sensitive surfaces mounted on the projecting end of the support member, facing away from each other and extending perpendicularly to the outer sidewall of the engine block, for detecting as a change in an electrical signal pressure vibrations transmitted as a knocking sound to the pressure-sensitive surfaces through coolant water from the partition when knocking is produced in the combustion chamber; and lead wires for delivering the electrical signal change responsive to the knocking. This device enables effective detection of only the knocking produced in the combustion chamber as the pressure vibrations in the coolant water.
Abstract:
A tracking system including positionable elements, rotary video heads mounted on the positionable elements, a control head, a frequency generator attached to a capstan motor, and a displacing pattern generator. The displacing pattern generator includes counters which count the pulses from the frequency generator. The pattern generator is reset by control signals reproduced by the control head, a still pattern generator, and an adding means which adds the output signal from the counters and the output signal from the still pattern generator. The output signal of the displacing pattern generator is amplified and applied to the positionable element. As result, the video head mounted on the positionable element can properly trace on a recorded video track at a normal tape speed or at a different tape speed.
Abstract:
An electrical circuit for driving a piezoelectric transducer includes a DC electric source, a constant current circuit, connected to the DC electric source for processing a DC signal from the DC electric source and supplying a constant output current having a predetermined constant value, and an oscillation circuit connected to the constant current circuit for driving the piezoelectric transducer with a resonance frequency and with a constant current. The electrical circuit approximately drives the piezoelectric transducer with a constant current by supplying the constant current to the oscillation circuit.
