摘要: A method of driving an information display panel: in which display media constituted by particles including charged particles are sealed between two substrates, at least one substrate being transparent; in which the display media, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an information image; and in which, after an erasing wherein a color is displayed on a whole screen is performed, a rewriting of an information display is performed in such a manner that a color at the erasing is changed by applying a voltage forming electrostatic field in a reverse direction as that at the erasing, is characterized in that, after the rewriting of the information display is finished, a voltage forming electrostatic field in the same direction as that at erasing is applied. Thereby, providing a method of driving an information display panel, in which the particles constituting the display media are not stuck and disable to the substrate if information such as an image is left for a long time as it is, and a previous display image does not remain when a new display image is to be displayed after a long time left, and to provide an information display panel.

摘要: In an information equipment including: a display device having display memory properties, which displays information by a passive drive or an active drive, in which scan electrodes are sequentially addressed; and a position detector for detecting a position of an input means; wherein a display information is updated in accordance with an input of the position detector, a plurality of scan electrodes are selected simultaneously, when the display information is to be changed. Hereby, even in the case of using a display device, which displays information by a passive drive or an active drive, in which scan electrodes are sequentially addressed, the information equipment, in which display speed is not slow, can be provided.

摘要: The invention relates to a Group III nitride-based compound semiconductor light-emitting device having a well layer, a first layer formed on one surface of the well layer, a second layer formed on the other surface of the well layer, a first region provided in the vicinity of the interface between the first layer and the well layer, and a second region provided in the vicinity of the interface between the second layer and the well layer, wherein the first and second regions are formed such that the lattice constants of the first and second layers approach the lattice constant of the well layer. The invention also relates to a method for producing a Group III nitride-based compound semiconductor light-emitting device having a light-emitting layer of a single or multiple quantum well structure including at least an indium (In)-containing well layer, wherein, during formation of the well layer through vapor growth, an In source is fed through a procedure including: initiating feeding of the In source at a minimum feed rate; subsequently, elevating the In source feed rate to a target feed rate; maintaining the feed rate at the target feed rate; and subsequently, lowering the feed rate from the target feed rate to the minimum feed rate, and a Group III source other than the In source is fed at a constant feed rate from initiation of feeding of the In source to termination of the feeding.

摘要: A polymer dispersed liquid crystal display device includes a top substrate and a bottom substrate. First electrodes are provided on the top substrate and second electrodes are provided on the bottom substrate. Orientation are provided on the top and the bottom substrates. The orientation films are respectively rubbed in predetermined directions. A polymer material, a liquid crystal material and a predetermined amount of a chiral agent are interposed between the top and bottom substrates. The polymer material is separated from the liquid crystal material through irradiation by ultraviolet rays. The liquid crystal material and polymer material have a mutually orientated and dispersed structure. The liquid crystal material has a predetermined twisting angle in a predetermined twist direction. As a result, light is scattered when substantially normal to the liquid crystal display device and the surface of the top substrate. Thus, a polymer dispersed liquid crystal display device is obtained that is particularly bright in a specific direction.

摘要: Pyrimidine derivatives represented by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a straight chain alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The pyrimidine derivatives are added to nematic liquid crystal compositions to reduce the threshold voltage of display devices by increasing the N.fwdarw.I transition temperature and the dielectric anisotropy.
