Abstract: Method and apparatus for adaptive data collection operations where a first user equipment (UE) is paired to a second UE. The first UE may receive capability data from the second UE, the capability data comprising cellular capabilities of the second UE. The first UE may further collect service history data for the second UE, where the service history data corresponds to the cellular capabilities indicated by the capability data. The first UE may further transmit the service history data to the second UE.

Abstract: A device, system and method for a user equipment (UE) to opportunistically utilize the wireless capabilities of a paired device. The UE is configured to establish a first cellular network connection based on a first subscription, a second cellular network connection based on a second subscription and a connection to a further UE based on a short-range communication protocol. The UE identifies a predetermined condition and transmits an indication to the further UE based on the predetermined condition. The further UE establishes a further cellular network connection in response to the indication and the further cellular network connection is based on one of the first subscription or the second subscription. The UE then declares no service for one of the first cellular network connection or the second cellular network connection based on the further cellular network connection.

Further, the wireless device may be configured to perform uplink activity for both the first RAT and the second RAT by TDM uplink data for the first RAT and uplink data for the second RAT if uplink activity is scheduled according to both the first RAT and the second RAT.

Abstract: A device, system, and method detect an activity and utilize a mitigation scheme. The method is performed at a device that is configured to establish a network connection to a network, the network including a plurality of areas, each area being defined based on a grouping of a plurality of neighboring cells, the device being associated with one of the areas at a select time. The method includes determining between an activity status and a non-activity status associated with the device. When the activity status is determined, the method includes determining an area update rate indicating a number of changes to the associated area over a period of time. When the area update rate exceeds a predetermined update rate threshold, the method includes selecting a mitigation scheme configured to reduce an amount of power used by the device.

Abstract: A network controller, a user equipment (UE) device, and associated methods for adaptively prioritizing simultaneous unicast and multicast communications based on traffic classes. The UE may determine whether each of a unicast communication and a multicast communication are associated with a foreground application or a background application. The UE may further determine whether each of the unicast communication and the multicast communication are high priority or low priority. The UE may then buffer one of the unicast or multicast communications based on the whether it is associated with a foreground or background application, whether it is high or low priority, and whether it is a unicast or multicast communication.

A method to set the activity mode is performed at a device located with a user that is configured to establish a network connection to a network. The method includes determining a status of the user, the status indicating an activity state or a non-activity state of the user. The method includes, when the status indicates the activity state, activating an activity mode on the device that restricts select types of mobile originating data traffic.
