Abstract:
A method performed in a wireless network includes receiving signals within a downlink frequency domain to enable channel estimation and measuring two or more signals only for two or more frequency bands of the downlink frequency domain that correspond to two or more uplink frequency bands associated with a scheduling grant or channel allocation that correspond to physical uplink channel frequency bands. The method also includes calculating path loss values for each of the frequency bands and calculating a total power based on the path loss values corresponding to the frequency bands. The method further includes determining a power allocation per frequency band based on the calculated total power to be applied to an uplink transmission and allocating the total power.
Abstract:
A method in a wireless network containing a first node and an adjacent second node for determining an uplink received power target value of the second node to be used by a user equipment which is to be served by the second node includes establishing the uplink received power target value of the first node. The method also includes obtaining the downlink power capacity of the first node and obtaining the downlink power capacity of the second node. Additionally, the method includes calculating the difference in downlink power capacity between the first node and the second node and determining the uplink received power target value of the second node based on the calculated difference in downlink power capacity between the nodes and the established uplink received power target value of the first node.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a first network node and a method in a first network node for selecting a transport format among a plurality of available transport formats for communicating information with a second network node via a wireless link, which transport formats are such that a first transport format has a first maximum capacity and all the other transport formats have a higher maximum capacity in an increasing order. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a quality indicator, which quality indicator indicates the current channel quality of the wireless link; determining a throughput indicator, which throughput indicator indicates the throughput format being available at the obtained quality indicator; calculating a switching value based on the quality indicator and the throughput indicator; switching to the second transport format when the quality indicator indicates that the switching value is reached or exceeded with respect to the second transport format; sending a notification to the second node, which notification indicates the switch to the second transport format.

Method and arrangement (600) in a first network node (120-1), serving a first cell (130-1), for forming a coordination group for coordinating multipoint wireless communication. The method comprising determining (502) interference within the first cell (130-1). Also, the method comprises identifying (503) a second network node (120-2), which is either transmitting radio signals causing the interference, serving a user equipment (110-1), which transmits radio signals causing the interference, or being the intended recipient of radio signals causing the interference. Additionally, the method comprises transmitting (504) a token to the identified second network node (120-2), inviting it to coordinate the wireless communication. Furthermore, in addition, if acceptance is received, the method comprises forming (505) a coordination group together with the second network node (120-2), and coordinate the wireless communication.Further, a method and arrangement (800) in a second network node (120-2) is presented.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism for controlling a repeater that is less costly and more flexible. The objective is achieved by a method in a control unit (150) for controlling a repeater (100) being comprised in a radio access network (110). The control unit sends a repeater control message to the repeater (100). The repeater control message is tunneled as ordinary data communication via an available radio communication channel (160) within the radio access network (110). The repeater control message is configured to control the repeater (100).

Abstract:
In a wireless network using a carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) scheme is provided a method, system, devices and instruction sets for detecting transmission levels and adjusting the transmission levels for both a connection point and mobile stations within the network in order to reduce power consumption in network devices and minimize interference problems while keeping hidden node problems on a controlled level.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a base station and a method in a mobile communication network comprising means for transmitting information to User Equipments (UEs), on a first channel and means for transmitting data packets to said UEs on a second channel. The timing of the first channel and second channel is overlapping, and the base station comprises means for setting individual power levels of the first channel for each scheduled UE. The base station according to the present invention comprises means for setting the power level of the second channel for a first scheduled UE based on the power level setting for the first channel for at least a subsequently scheduled second UE based on an early UE scheduling decision.

An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism for handling a handover in a more efficient way. The invention relates to a method in a mobility controller (180) in a radio access network for preparing a handover. The method comprises the following steps to be taken during data transmission between a mobile terminal (140) and a source base station (120), before the handover: Sending a request to a candidate base station (122), which request aims at measuring and reporting timing alignment to be used by the mobile terminal (140) when communicating with the destination base station (122) after the handover, if the candidate base station becomes the destination base station (122) after the handover; receiving a report from the destination base station (122) comprising said requested timing alignment; and when the destination base station (122) is selected among the at least one candidate base stations, sending a message to the mobile terminal (140) to use said timing alignment received from the destination base station (122) when communicating with the destination base station (122) after the handover.
