    摘要: A photo-sensitive element, a readout pixel with the photo-sensitive element, and a liquid crystal display with the readout pixels are described. The photo-sensitive element includes a switch TFT and a photo detecting device. The gate electrode of the switch TFT is electrically connected to a switch line and the source electrode of the switch TFT is electrically connected to a readout line. The photo detecting device is connected between the switch line and the drain electrode of the switch TFT for detecting the brightness of a light incident thereon. The photo detecting device is preferably a photo TFT, a photo diode, or a light sensitive resistor. The photo TFT and the switch TFT are preferably amorphous silicon transistors. The switch line is preferably a gate line disposed on the TFT array substrate of the liquid crystal display.

    摘要: A pixel region is surrounded in any adjacent scan lines and any adjacent data lines. Two thin film transistor (TFT) groups that are controlled by different scan lines are located in each pixel region. The two data lines respectively send different polarity data to the pixel region through the two TFT groups. At least one capacitor is used to couple with the two TFT groups for providing a coupling effect to make sure the voltage in the two connection points simultaneously goes up and down.

    摘要: The present invention builds a metal electrode that is controlled by the common electrode in each pixel cell. During operation, a voltage is first applied to this metal electrode to transform the liquid crystal molecule over this metal electrode from the splay state into the bend state. Next, a voltage is applied to the pixel electrode to transform the liquid crystal molecule in the whole pixel region from the splay state into the bend state. Two different voltage field also can be respectively applied to the common electrode and the pixel electrode.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display with a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit includes two sub-pixels. Each sub-pixel includes a thin film transistor, a liquid crystal capacitor and a storage capacitor. One of the storage capacitors is a changeable capacitor. By the changeable capacitor, two different data voltages are generated in respective sub-pixels during adjacent frames. The different data voltages are symmetrical with respect to a common voltage to improve image quality.
