    摘要: An information recording medium (100) includes a recordable area (1) where data information is recordable, an advertisement area (2) where at least either of advertisement information and identification information for identifying the advertisement information, and control area (3) where control information necessary to record the data information in the recordable area or necessary to record the data information at a rate higher than a predetermined recording rate is recorded readably on condition that the advertisement information is reproduced. With this, information recording media such as DVDs where, for example, data information is recordable can be widely used by enhancing the motivation of the users to reproduce advertisement information.

    摘要: An optical disk includes a substrate covered with an information recording layer. The information recording layer includes a recording material and an exothermic material dispersed in the recording material. The exothermic material absorbs recording light for recording information, and then generates heat. An external dimension of the exothermic material is smaller than the diffraction limit of reading light for reading information. The recording material has absorptance of a wavelength of the recording light lower than that of the exothermic material. Information is recorded on the recording material as the light refraction index of the recording material changes due to heating.

    摘要: At the least, a first recording layer 2 and a translucent film layer 3 are laminated in order on a transparent substrate 1 to form a first information recording/reproduction unit; and at the least, a reflective film layer 6 and a second recording layer 5 are laminated in order on a transparent substrate 7 to form a second information recording/reproduction unit. Then, the first and the second information recording/reproduction units are glued together by a transparent bonding layer 4, with the translucent film layer 3 facing the second recording layer 5, so that a two-layer information recording medium is obtained. Further, grooves G and lands L are formed for the first and the second recording layers 2 and 5. The depths of the grooves are substantially equal for the first and the second recording layers 2 and 5, the heights of the lands L are substantially equal for the first and the second recording layers 2 and 5, and the depth of the grooves G are greater than the height of the lands L.

    摘要: An optical disk includes a substrate covered with an information recording layer. The information recording layer includes a recording material and a dispersion material dispersed in the recording material. The recording material absorbs recording light for recording information, and then generates heat. As the light refraction index of the recording material changes due to the heat generation, information is recorded on the recording material. The dispersion material has lower absorptance of the recording light and lower thermal conductivity than the recording material, and an external dimension smaller than a diffraction limit of reading light for reading information.
