摘要: A vehicle steering apparatus includes a steering input section having at least a steering wheel to which steering input is applied, and a steering output section having at least a steering rack shaft and operatively associated with left and right steered wheels for steering the steered wheels by steering-rack-shaft movement produced by a steering force determined based on the steering input and transmitted directly or indirectly to the steering rack shaft. The steering rack shaft is split into left and right movable rack shaft portions. Also provided is a steer angle converter enabling a differential rack stroke between left and right rack strokes of the left and right movable rack shaft portions. The steer angle converter is constructed by at least one of a variable-pitch dual rack arrangement and a dual taper-pulley arrangement of a cable back-up mechanism.

摘要: An engine starter includes a unidirectional rotation clutch system with a clutch outer having an outer-diameter side cylinder portion, a clutch inner having an inner-diameter side cylinder portion, long shaft-shaped clutch rollers that are long in a drive shaft direction and are installed in wedge spaces formed between the inner and outer-diameter side cylinder portions, and springs that urge the clutch rollers toward wedge portions, wherein at least one of the inner and outer-diameter side cylinder portions includes a wear preventive portion that prevents wearing of the clutch rollers that have turned so as to be in an inclined posture with respect to the drive shaft.

摘要: A steering control apparatus for a vehicle including a steering input unit movable to set a steering input, and a steering output unit arranged to output a steering output, the steering input unit being connected via a cable to a body of the vehicle, includes a steering ratio control unit, a steering limiter, and a cable-attachment diagnostic controller. The steering ratio control unit regulates a variable steering ratio as a rate of change in the steering output with respect to a change in the steering input. The steering limiter restricts movement of the steering input unit to limit the steering input. The cable-attachment diagnostic controller is activated in a cable-attachment diagnostic mode, to control the steering ratio in such a manner that the steering input unit is movable over an allowable region defined by the steering limiter when the cable is correctly attached.

摘要: A frame transfer method transfers frames in a service provider network that couples to a user network in a broadband network in which a plurality of user networks are coupled via the service provider network. The method receives a user frame that is input from a user network by a first edge switch within the service provider network that is coupled to the user network, and adds header information to the user frame in the first edge switch and outputs the frame that is added with the header information from the first edge switch to a core switch within the service provider network. The header information includes a first address that is unique within the service provider network and is allocated to the first edge switch, a second address that is unique within the service provider network and is allocated to a second edge switch coupled to a user network that becomes a destination, a VLAN value allocated to a network within the service provider network, a first port identifier identifying a port of the first edge switch that receives the user frame, and a second port identifier identifying a port of the second edge switch.

摘要: A vehicle steering system is provided with a primary steering system, a backup steering system and a control system that switches from the primary steering system to the backup steering system when a defect is determined in the primary steering system such as a defeat in a steering reaction force actuator. The vehicle steering system has a pair of clutches that mechanically disconnect the steering wheel from the steerable vehicle wheels in normal situations, and connect them when the steering reaction force actuator is determined to be defective. The control system has a steering malfunction detection section that detects a malfunction in the steering reaction force actuator, and a steering control limiting section that limits the control commands to the steering gear unit actuator from when the steering reaction force actuator is determined to be malfunctioning to when both the clutches are connected.

The controller includes an electric drive unit overheat protecting section that determines, when the temperature of the electric drive unit rises beyond a predetermined temperature, a smaller steering angle ratio as compared with a steering angle ratio determined thereby when the temperature of the electric drive unit is lower than the predetermined temperature. A steering angle ratio control method is also provided.

摘要: In a starter for internal combustion engines, a tubular pinion gear support shaft 8 is rotatably supported by a casing, and coupled to a drive shaft of a motor so as to be rotatively driven by the motor, and an annular pinion gear 3 is fitted on the pinion gear support shaft in axially slidable but rotatively drivable relationship. A push rod 9 is axially slidably received in the tubular pinion gear support shaft and provided with a free end engaged with a free end of the pinion gear for transmitting a shifting force for driving the pinion gear into meshing with a ring gear of an engine from a shift lever to the push rod. A shift spring 15 consisting of a compression coil spring is coaxially received in the pinion gear support shaft and interposed between an associated end of the shift lever and a base end of the push rod. Thus, the assembling of the starter is simplified while the action of the shift spring is stabilized, and the design of the starter is made compact.

摘要: An error removal system to be applied to a tape recorder of the type that stores and retrieves data in and from a plurality of tracks of a magnetic tape by means of a magnetic head includes the steps shifting the position of the magnetic head and detecting the center line of the target track from the data being retrieved by the magnetic head so that the magnetic head can be correctly placed on the center line of the target track and the data retrieval operation can be correctly resumed. With such an arrangement, the magnetic head of the data backup tape recorder can effectively and surely regain the target track even if an error is found in the retrieved signal due to an off-track condition. Other errors may be removed by employing a series of microstep adjustments to the magnetic head.
