Abstract: A Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) device comprises an array of multiple antennas and a circuitry configured to receive, using the array of multiple antennas, a plurality of calibration signals from a plurality of proximate wireless MIMO devices, calibrate the wireless MIMO device based on the received calibration signals and based on known directions from the wireless MIMO device to each of the proximate wireless MIMO devices, and drive the array of multiple antennas to emit a beam-formed calibration signal to each of the proximate wireless devices in order to enable each of the proximate wireless MIMO devices to calibrate itself.

Abstract: A system and method for triggering beamformed uplink (UL) physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs) are disclosed. The system comprises an access point (AP) and one or more stations (STAs). The AP sends a soliciting frame to the one or more STAs, wherein the frame comprises a null data packet, NDP, request, NDPR, indicator and receive an NDP PPDU from each of the one or more solicited STAs. The AP, then computes the precoder for each of the one or more solicited STAs and send the one or more solicited STA a trigger frame with a beamforming report. The AP receives from each of the STAs one or more beamformed UL data packets and sends a block acknowledgement to the one or more solicited STAs indicating the successful receipt of the one or more beamformed UL data packets.

Abstract: A device on a wireless network generates duration data for determining a duration of a time interval. A transmission is then instructed, by the device, to transmit the duration data and a downlink payload including an aggregated Media Access Control (MAC) layer data unit, the downlink payload being transmitted on first subcarriers. The transmission also includes a trigger that configures the at least one other device on the network to transmit an uplink payload within the time interval, and during at least part of the transmission of the downlink payload, on second subcarriers that are at different frequencies to the first subcarriers.

In addition, the processor is configured to combine the primary signal and the auxiliary signal to create a joint output signal.
