摘要: There is featured a processing method for processing a target body that includes setting a beam area formed by a laser beam on the organic insulating film so as to be larger than an area formed by projecting a target part of an organic insulating film onto a horizontal plane. The method also includes, subsequently moving the organic insulating film toward the irradiated region of the laser beam, and terminating the irradiation with the laser beam when the end part of the target part coincides with the moving end part of the laser beam. This enables the resultant processed target surface to be smooth and free from reaction product including decomposed segments of the target body. Also featured is an optical component including an optical element having a surface that is processed according to the processing methods of the present invention.

摘要: An optical pick-up device comprising an optical system including a light source and an optical diffraction grating element and a light receiving element, wherein the optical diffraction grating element guides the 0th-order diffracted lights of a light beam emitted from the light source onto a recording medium and guides the first-order diffracted lights of a reflected light from the recording medium onto the light receiving element to produce a plurality of focused light spots having the same light amount, wherein the optical diffraction grating element includes diffraction gratings having a configuration in which grooves and flat lands each positioned between the adjacent grooves are successively alternately formed, wherein the diffraction gratings have the same groove depth, groove width and groove tilt angle in order to obtain a constant 0th-order diffraction efficiency and first-order diffraction efficiency in the optical diffraction grating element while the pitches of the diffraction gratings are made different by setting a different land width for each diffraction grating.

摘要: An optical head comprising a diffracting element having two tracking diffracting regions separated by a division line extending in a direction corresponding to a track direction of a recording medium, and one focusing diffracting region separated from the tracking diffracting regions by a division line extending in a direction corresponding to a radial direction of the recording medium. The optical head further comprises a light receiving element having two tracking light receiving regions for receiving diffracted lights produced in the tracking diffracting regions, and two adjoining focusing light receiving regions for receiving a diffracted light produced in the focusing diffracting region. The diffracted light produced in the focusing diffracting region always has a substantially constant light intensity, even when a tracking error occurs. As a result, an offset can be prevented from occurring in a focus error signal by finely adjusting the diffracting element.

摘要: An object lens driving device causes partial rotation of movable members holding an object lens on an X-Y frame perpendicular to the optical axis of the object lens about a resilient hinge member as a fulcrum. The movable members are supported by base members. The hinge member interconnects the movable members and the base members. Electro-magnetic coils and magnets effectuate relative rotation of the movable members with respect to the base members about the hinge member. A rotational axis passing through the hinge member also passes through the position of center of gravity of the movable members and the balanced position of moment of inertia of the movable members.

摘要: A position of a first module (12a) with respect to an optical fiber (11) is determined in accordance with a receiving efficiency at the first module (12a) with respect to light emitted from the optical fiber (11). Power of light coupled into the optical fiber (11) from the first module (12a) is set in accordance with a value of a far-end reflectivity on a side of the first module (12a) in the position so as to satisfy a predetermined formula. By giving priority to determining a condition that significantly influences an improvement of an eye opening ratio, it is possible to manufacture an optical communication system at a low cost and with more freedom in manufacturing. Thus provided is a method of manufacturing an optical communication system, the method allowing for manufacturing an optical communication system at a low cost and with more freedom in manufacturing.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a microlens array and a projection-type liquid crystal display apparatus which can increase the efficiency of use of light, facilitate a method of manufacturing a microlens array and reduce the cost of equipment. By an operation of only irradiating a first lens with parallel light which has an intensity distribution corresponding to the shape of a second lens and irradiating an ultraviolet curing resin layer with transmission light, the first and second lenses are placed with a high alignment accuracy in a mutual positional relation thereof. By irradiating the first lens with the parallel light, it becomes possible to uniformly expose a broad area, and it becomes possible to expose by the wafer.

摘要: An optical pickup device which includes (A) a light source, and (B) an objective lens and an aberration correcting optical system which are located in a light path from the light source to an optical recording medium is so arranged that the aberration correcting optical system imparts a phase distribution to luminous flux which transmits the aberration correcting optical system, so as to correct a predetermined aberration; and an amount of phase of the aberration correcting optical system when correcting the aberration is set in such a manner that the aberration correcting optical system imparts a larger amount of phase at a position farther from a point where the aberration correcting optical system crosses an optical axis of light emitted from the light source. With this, it is possible to increase a tolerance for the center misalignment of the objective lens so as to reduce aberration caused by the center misalignment.
