摘要: A survey document is provided on a server, for delivery to a client on a network, having questions and potential answers in a format defining branches of the questions. Programming instructions are also provided on the server for delivery to the client on the network. The instructions are for causing the client to render questions on a user interface from the survey document. The questions initially rendered include a first one of the questions. The instructions are also for causing the client to branch to and render on the user interface second or third ones of the questions responsive to the survey document and an answer received for the first question.

摘要: The user requesting the search is enabled to analyze the list of excessive hits in a manner organized through a Web content manager on the user's display screen, and reduce the excessive hits through the elimination of extraneous domains or subdomains captured by the search. An implementation for reducing an excessive number of hits in a search result received at one of the receiving display stations on the Web comprising conventional means for displaying at said receiving display station, Web documents received from sources on the Web, and means for conducting keyword searches on the Web. There are means associated with the receiving display stations for displaying the number of Web documents hit by said keyword searches, together with means, responsive to an excessive number of Web document hits, for enabling a user to display a hierarchical level of the domains of the Web documents hit by said searches with a count of the number of hits for each domain, and means enabling the user to interactively eliminate selected domains to thereby reduce the excess number of hits in said search.

摘要: A computer controlled interactive display RFID (radio frequency identification) household system enabling a householder to track and manage a set of RFID tags containing household possessions located within short range RF limited boundaries of a household facility. The implementation includes the combination of a short range RF transceiver for identifying and communicating with all RFID tags within the household boundaries and apparatus for inputting data indicating whether a RFID tag within said household boundaries is in one of the set of household possessions. In such an environment, there also is an implement for inputting this tracking and management data, as well as for storing this input data. There is also provided a function for prompting said householder in response to the entry within said household boundaries of a RFID tag not in one of the set of household possessions. As will be described hereinafter in greater detail, such prompts help the householder to facilitate the tracking of new products that have been purchased without the need of the householder to periodically take time to enter newly acquired household possessions.

摘要: A system, method, and related computer program for asynchronous transactions action buttons over communication mediums. The present invention allows users to maintain control over an instant message after it is sent. More specifically, a sender of an instant message can revoke a sent instant message, or amend a sent instant message. Further, a receiver of an instant message can respond directly to the instant message and also enjoys the continued control over the sent response instant message. In the present invention, display devices used for sending and receiving said instant messages include cellular telephones, PDAs, and laptop computers.

摘要: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for checking for viruses by adding a virus scanning capability to a data transfer device. In a method of the present invention a real-time virus checker is stored on a controller. The virus checker scans data as it is being written to a file. If a virus is detected, the suspected file is flagged. Anti-virus software is then invoked to perform a scan of the entire suspected file. In this manner, demands on CPU resources to perform scans will be greatly reduced as only those files marked as possibly containing a viruse need to be scanned, rather than scanning all the files on the entire data transfer device.

摘要: A system, method, and computer program product for locating an audio segment includes an input device for transmitting an input sample indicative of the audio segment and a media player for playing audio information stored on the storage device. The system further includes a sample converter to generate a digitized representation of the input sample and a digitized representation of the audio information on the storage device. The digitized representation of the input sample may include a diphthong sequence indicative of the diphthong components of the input sample. In this embodiment, an audio converter of the system generates an audio content diphthong sequence. The system may further include a comparator configured to detect a match between the input sample diphthong sequence and a portion of the audio content diphthong sequence.

摘要: If RF transmission repeater units could be mounted in as many automobiles as possible, particularly automobiles owned by drivers residing in low population regions, the likelihood would increase that there could be established wireless transmission paths between a wireless telephone unit and cellular array base stations, including a set of at least one automobile mounted repeater unit intermediate and independent of said wireless telephone unit and said base station. With enough automobiles with mounted repeaters travelling in the remoter regions, there would be a reasonable likelihood that such sequential sets of repeaters connecting to base towers of adjacent cellular arrays could be randomly established. The situation could occur that two or more alternate paths could be establishable between a cellular telephone and cell base stations via two different sets of repeaters. In such a case, as set forth hereinafter in greater detail, there are likely to be different cell base stations, each for a different path. In such a case, any conflict could be resolved by selecting the path having the best transmission attributes. This conflict could readily be resolved through conventional cellular telephone system technology that switches moving cell phones within cellular array areas that “hand-off” or switch a moving cell phone as it moves from conventional cell to cell. This hand-off is based upon attributes like signal-to-noise ratio or strength of signal.

摘要: An audio transmission system and an associated method are disclosed, the system includes a transmitting device suitable for converting an audio signal to a digitized signal, a receiving device suitable for receiving transmissions from the transmitting device, and a phonetic analyzer suitable for comparing the digitized signal to a set of digitized signals stored in a first dictionary. The phonetic analyzer is adapted to transmit, in lieu of the digitized signal, an index value associated with the digitized signal to a receiving device in response to detecting a match between the digitized signal and one of the first dictionary entries. The phonetic analyzer is further adapted to assign an index value to the digitized signal and to store the digitized signal and its corresponding digitized signal in an entry of the first dictionary in response to detecting no match between the digitized signal and any of the first dictionary entries. The phonetic analyzer may be configured to compress the index value prior to transmission. The receiving device includes a second dictionary and a dictionary controller for receiving the index value and the corresponding digitized signal and for storing the index value and the corresponding index value in the second dictionary. Upon detecting an index value that matches to an index value in the second dictionary, the receiving device may be configured to retrieve the corresponding digitized signal from the second dictionary. The phonetic analyzer may assign index values that are indicative of the corresponding digitized signals such that index values assigned to similar digitized signals are similar and index values assigned to dissimilar digitized signals are dissimilar. In this embodiment, upon detecting an index value that fails to match to an index value in the secondary dictionary, the dictionary controller determines a closest matching index value and retrieves the digitized signal corresponding to closest matching index value from the second dictionary.
