摘要: A system that will enable the sender of the E-mail to control the redistribution of the message tasks that are to be redistributed by the receiver of the E-mail. More particularly, the present invention comprises enabling the sender of E-mail to specify conditions for the redistribution of an E-mail message sent to a receiving display terminal in combination with an implementation enabling this sender to track the redistribution of the sent E-mail message and apparatus enabling the sender to change the redistribution of the E-mail message. According to the invention, initially, there is an implementation enabling a user at the terminal receiving the sent E-mail message to redistribute the sent E-mail message subject to the conditions specified by the sender. The sent E-mail message specifies tasks divided out of the sent E-mail message to be assigned, respectively, to subsequent receivers of the redistribution messages by such messages.

摘要: Instead of alphanumeric passwords, the entry of answers to questions that have obscure answers known only to the user is solicited. However, it is recognized that even items of obscure information could be found out by identity thieves. Therefore, many of such questions are set up, and then one or more of such questions are randomly selected to prompt the user seeking entry. This should thwart the hacker who might have come upon any one of such items of obscure information. The stored user database of questions and answers for protecting access to a secured entity may be carried on a card, such as a smart card. This portable card would include means for storing data representative of a plurality of questions requiring obscure answers known only to the user of the card. The data processor controlled display terminal protecting entry to the secured database or facility would include apparatus enabling the selective operative coupling of said portable card with said display terminal in combination with apparatus responsive to said coupling of said card to said display terminal for prompting said user on the display terminal to answer at least one of said stored questions selected at random.

摘要: A network distribution network for instant messaging including a plurality of display stations operated by a group of users enabled to send and receive displayable messages to other group members comprising storage for each individual station in the plurality of display stations for storing a list of identified other display stations authorized for instant message exchange with users at these display stations in combination with standard means at each individual station in the group of display stations enabling a user at the individual display station to activate such individual station for instant message exchange. There is a conventional implementation at each individual station of the plurality of display stations for querying as to whether a selected other display station operated by a user in the group is activated. However, in response to such a status query there are provided means at each individual user operated display station for making a selected status response personalized to the identified display station. There are means at each individual station of the plurality of display stations for displaying the stored list of authorized other identified display stations and the status of each of the other identified user operated display stations including any instant message relative to such status. There also may be provided at each individual user operated station in the plurality of display stations an implementation for displaying the stored list of authorized other identified display stations, including any personalized status response sent from the individual station to any of said other identified display stations.

摘要: Methods, systems, and media are disclosed for interaction between a client device having a common interface and a server device having an interface. One example embodiment includes the client device receiving user interface descriptions, in the form of xml files, from the server device, wherein the user interface descriptions comprise commands and options for possible actions on the interface of the server device. Further, the example embodiment includes mapping of the commands and options to pre-configured inputs on the common interface, thereby producing mapped inputs. Further still, the example embodiment includes transmitting a selected one of the mapped inputs from the client device to the server device for the server device to execute the selected one of the mapped inputs, that is, the underlying command or option associated with the mapped input.

摘要: The creator or author of the Web document or page at the Web site source of the page is enabled to prioritize all of the hyperlinks to other Web documents embedded in the Web page in order to optimize the needs, such as the business needs of the host. The prioritization is applied in the determination of the order in which the Web documents linked to the activated embedded hyperlinks in the Web document are to be accessed. The system is implemented through the inclusion of a hypertext markup language tag associated with each of the prioritized hyperlinks indicative of the priority level of the associated hyperlink. The implementation for designating a priority level for each of the hyperlinks may be enabled to change any previously designated priority levels for said hyperlinks. Such changes in any previously designated priority levels could be made applicable to the priority levels in previously distributed copies of said Web document.

摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing the number of cycles required to implement load instructions in a data processing system having a Central Processing Unit (CPU). The CPU includes a rename register file that can be used in whole or in part for retaining cache lines from previously executed load instructions. The rename register file is then used by subsequent instructions (e.g. load instructions) requiring the data previously loaded therein. Thus, reducing the cycles normally associated with retrieving the data from the cache for the subsequent instructions.

摘要: The user requesting the search is enabled to analyze the list of excessive hits in a manner organized through a Web content manager on the user's display screen, and reduce the excessive hits through the elimination of extraneous domains or subdomains captured by the search. An implementation for reducing an excessive number of hits in a search result received at one of the receiving display stations on the Web comprising conventional means for displaying at said receiving display station, Web documents received from sources on the Web, and means for conducting keyword searches on the Web. There are means associated with the receiving display stations for displaying the number of Web documents hit by said keyword searches, together with means, responsive to an excessive number of Web document hits, for enabling a user to display a hierarchical level of the domains of the Web documents hit by said searches with a count of the number of hits for each domain, and means enabling the user to interactively eliminate selected domains to thereby reduce the excess number of hits in said search.
