    摘要: A selective calling radio paging receiver includes a battery saving controller which activates the high power drain unit of the receiver at periodic intervals for allowing the detection of a preamble contained in a received digital paging signal and deactivates it for a period longer than the period of activation for power savings purposes. The power saving is disabled in response to the detection of a preamble for continued power activation to permit a sync detector and an address detector to be operated in succession. A window pulse is generated in synchronism with the clock timing of the received digital signal so that its binary level transition is time coincident with each window pulse. If noise occurs in the received signal, binary level transitions occurs which are out of coincidence with window pulses. The time-coincident binary level transitions and the noncoincident binary level transitions are counted to give first and second counts, respectively. If a valid preamble is lost or corrupted and if the first count is greater than the second, a valid indication of the received signal will be given and power activation is continued to operate the sync and address detectors in succession.

    摘要: Manually operated first, second and third command entry switches are provided for respectively generating first, second and third command signals. In response to the first command signal a controller successively recalls portions of received messages from a memory in a first sequence and causes the recalled portions to be successively displayed. The controller responds to the second command signal by successively recalling starting portions of the messages in a second sequence and causing the recalled starting portions to be successively displayed. To simplify back scrolling operations, the controller responds to the third command signal by successively recalling the portions of the messages in a direction opposite to the first sequence if the portion being displayed at the moment the third command signal is generated is not a starting portion or successively recalling the starting portions of the messages in a direction opposite to the second sequence if the portion being displayed at the moment the third command signal is generated is a starting portion.

    摘要: A selective calling display radio pager has a memory which is configured to store a plurality of received messages for later retrieval so that the amount of messages which can be stored is limited by one of first and second memory availability factors depending on the length of each of the received messages. A controller determines one of the first and second memory availability factors which is more accurate early warning against possible depletion of the memory than the other and displays it on a graphic alarm indicator along with a display of a message retrieved from the memory. Specifically, the controller determines the ratio of a sum of messages which can be received at a given time to the maximum number of messages which can be stored and the ratio of a sum of message segments which can be received at said given time to the maximum number of such message segments which can be stored, and provides a display of the smaller ratio on the graphic alarm indicator.

    摘要: Transmission channel estimation is performed for NT×NR reception signals and estimated transmission channel values are thereby output. The estimated transmission channel values are divided into N groups of NT×M estimated transmission channel values and a covariance matrix with M rows and N columns is obtained for each of the estimated transmission channel value groups. The N covariance matrixes are averaged over a predetermined range in terms of at least a time or a frequency (first averaging). Eigenvectors are generated based on respective N averaging outputs. Transmission channels between base station antennas and terminal antennas are generated from the eigenvectors and the estimated transmission channel values. Covariance matrixes are obtained for the generated transmission channels. The covariance matrixes are averaged over a different range from the range used in the first averaging (second averaging) and a beam forming weight is obtained by combining the generated eigenvectors.
