    摘要： A method for preparing .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acids of the formulaR.sub.1 (R.sub.2)C.dbd.C(R.sub.3)CO.sub.2 Hwhere R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 can be hydrogen, fluorine, alkyl, or alkyl containing fluorine, but at least one of R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 is fluorine or alkyl containing fluorine. The method involves reacting an alkenyl halide containing fluorine having the general formulaR.sub.1 (R.sub.2)C.dbd.C(R.sub.3)Xwhere R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 are the same as above, and X is chlorine, bromine, or iodine with carbon dioxide in an aprotic polar organic solvent and in the presence of activated zinc. The activated zinc is activated by pretreatment with a mineral acid or acetic acid. At least one cation is present during the reaction which is an alkali metal ion, alkaline earth metal ion or ammonium ion. The cation is present in an amount of 0.01 to 50 gram atoms per one mol of alkenyl halide containig fluorine. The resulting product is hydrolyzed.

    摘要： One or two auxiliary rollers of relatively small diameter are pressed against the peripheral surface of a main rotatable body which is heated. Where the two auxiliary rollers are employed, they are spaced apart from each other and are rotated in one direction at the same peripheral speed as that of the main rotatable body. A sheet carrying an unfixed toner image is fed by being gripped between the main rotatable body and the auxiliary rollers, during which the toner is heated and dried, and fixed to the sheet with the solvent evaporated. Thereafter, the sheet is discharged toward a next process. The sheet auxiliary sheets are relatively disposed under certain positional conditions for keeping the sheet in intimate contact with the main rotatable body to achieve proper toner fixing and sheet feeding operations.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a transferor, a fixing unit, and a guide. The image carrier carries a toner image. The transferor opposes the image carrier to form a transfer nip and transfers the toner image on the image carrier onto a recording medium at the transfer nip. The fixing unit fixes the toner image on the recording medium. The guide guides the recording medium bearing the toner image from the transferor toward the fixing unit and includes a surface portion directly contacting the recording medium. The surface portion includes a material for charging the recording medium to have a polarity opposite to the polarity of a toner forming the toner image.
