摘要: The invention provides a holder frame, optical device and projector which can prevent the substrate from deviating in position, the substrate from being compressed at the outer periphery and color unevenness from occurring. More particularly, in the four sides of a luminous-flux incident surface of a holder frame, there can be formed a plurality of cutouts extending from a vicinity of an opening to an outer edge of the luminous-flux incident surface and nearly orthogonal to a lengthwise of each side. Also, in the four sides of an accommodating surface of the holder frame, there are formed a plurality of cutouts extending from a vicinity of an opening to an outer edge of the accommodating surface and nearly orthogonal to a lengthwise of each side. The cutouts in each side of the accommodating surface of the holder frame are formed in positions between the cutouts formed in each side of the luminous-flux incident surface of the holder frame as viewed from a side of luminance-flux incidence.

摘要: To provide a projector reduced in size and weight and countermeasures against EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) as well. The projector has vertically separable outer cases which accommodate an optical system comprising: a color beam splitting optical system for splitting light from a light source into beams of predetermined colors; an electro-optical device for modulating the color beams split by the color beam splitting optical system in accordance with image information; a color beam combining optical system for combining the color beams modulated by the electro-optical devices; and a projection lens for projecting the resultant beam combined by the color beam combining optical system. These optical components constituting the optical system are attached to a inner case, and the inner case is fixed to a lower case so as to accommodate at least the color beam splitting optical system in a enclosure constituted by the inner case and the lower case.

摘要: A projection display device projector capable of improving cooling efficiency of the power unit includes a light source lamp unit, a projection lens unit, an exhaust fan provided near the light source lamp unit for ventilating an outer case, and a ventilating path provided inside the power unit. A suction fan is provided at the inlet of the ventilating path which is connected to the cooling air intake port through a duct cover to directly conduct fresh air into the ventilating path. Because the interior of the power unit is cooled by fresh air which is cooler than the air inside the outer case, cooling efficiency is enhanced.

摘要: An optical modulation device which can facilitate a reduction in size of a device and prevent overheating of the optical modulation device, and a projection display device utilizing the optical modulation device are provided. In the optical modulation device, sapphire glasses are affixed to the light-incident side and the light-emitting side surfaces of liquid crystal panels which respectively modulates light of three colors of red, green, and blue emitted from a light source according to image information. Therefore, heat generated on optical modulation devices can be discharged, so that overheating of the optical modulation devices can be prevented, and a reduction in size can be achieved. In addition, since the sapphire glass is difficult to scratch, it becomes easy-to-handle, thereby facilitating the management of the optical modulation devices.

摘要: An image display apparatus including a metal outer housing for which a filling process in a thixotropic forming method has been improved. On a reference surface of an upper housing composing the outer housing of a projection display apparatus, there are formed convex sections, and a supporting rib, the foregoing convex sections extending in the direction where a semimolten metal flows, and the foregoing supporting rib intersecting with the foregoing convex sections. Furthermore, protrusions are formed protruding from the reference surface, and flowing ribs are independently formed on base sections of the protrusions. These convex sections, supporting rib, and flowing ribs are formed in the upper housing for guiding the semimolten metal in the thixotropic forming method, and thereby ensuring filling characteristics of the semimolten metal into individual molds.
