    Abstract: The motor unit includes: a motor having a motor shaft that rotates around a motor axis extending along a horizontal direction; a gear section connected to the motor shaft on one side of the motor shaft in an axial direction; a housing that houses the motor and the gear section; and an oil contained in the housing. The housing includes a motor housing section that has inside a motor chamber for housing the motor, and a gear housing section that has inside a gear chamber for housing the gear section. The housing is provided with an oil passage along which the oil circulates for cooling the motor. A pump that supplies the oil to the motor is provided in a channel of the oil passage. The pump has a pump motor. A rotation axis of the pump motor is parallel to the motor axis.

    Abstract: One aspect of a motor of the present disclosure may include a rotor having a motor shaft disposed along a central axis extending in one direction, a stator facing the rotor via a gap in a radial direction, and a housing having an accommodating portion configured to accommodate the rotor and the stator, and to enable oil to be stored therein, wherein the housing comprises a lower wall portion facing a vertical-directional lower region in the inside of the accommodating portion, the lower wall portion comprises a cooling flow passage formed therein, and refrigerant flows in the cooling flow passage, and at least a portion of the cooling flow passage overlaps the vertical-directional lower region in the inside of the accommodating portion when viewed along a vertical direction.

    Abstract: In a drive device, a housing includes an outer lid that covers one side in an axial direction of a motor shaft. A pump includes an external gear fixed to an end on one side in the axial direction of the motor shaft, an internal gear surrounding a radial outside of the external gear and meshing with the external gear, a pump room recessed from a surface on the other side in the axial direction of an outer lid toward one side in the axial direction, the pump room accommodating the internal gear and the external gear, a suction port through which the oil is to be sucked into the pump room, and a discharge port through which the oil is to be discharged from the pump room. The motor shaft includes a motor shaft body to which a rotor core is fixed and a closer fixed to the motor shaft body to overlap the internal gear, and close at least a portion of the opening on the other side in the axial direction of the pump room.

    Abstract: A drive device includes a rotor, a stator, a housing including an accommodation portion to store oil, a pump driven through a motor shaft, and a transmission that transmits rotation of the motor shaft to a pump shaft. The pump includes an external gear fixed to the pump shaft, an internal gear surrounding the external gear and meshing with the external gear, a pump room provided in the housing and accommodating the internal gear and the external gear, a suction port through which the oil is to be sucked into the pump room, and a discharge port through which the oil is to be discharged from the pump room. The housing includes a first oil passage connected to the discharge port. The motor shaft includes a second oil passage provided in the motor shaft and connected to the first oil passage and a first through-hole connecting the second oil passage and an outer circumferential surface of the motor shaft. The suction port is open to a lower region in a vertical direction of the accommodation portion, and allows the oil in the accommodation portion to be sucked into the pump room.

    Abstract: A motor unit includes a motor including a rotor and a stator, a gear connected to the rotor, a housing including a housing space to house the motor and the gear, oil in a vertically lower region of the housing space, and an oil passage to lead the oil from the vertically lower region of the housing space to be fed to the motor. The housing space includes a motor chamber to house the motor; and a gear chamber to house the gear. The housing includes a partition to divide the motor chamber and the gear chamber. A bottom portion of the motor chamber is higher than a bottom portion of the gear chamber. A portion of the oil fed to the motor is in a vertically lower region of the motor chamber. A vertically lower region of the partition includes a partition opening to bring the gear chamber and the motor chamber into communication with each other. The partition opening is structured such that a rise in a liquid surface of the oil in the vertically lower region of the motor chamber causes an increase in an amount of transfer of the oil from the motor chamber to the gear chamber through the partition opening.

    Abstract: A motor includes a rotor to rotate about a motor axis, and a stator radially outside of the rotor. The rotor includes a shaft extending along the motor axis, and a rotor core surrounding the shaft from radially outside. The shaft includes a hollow portion including an inner circumferential surface extending along an axial direction, and a communicating hole extending in a radial direction to bring a space outside of the shaft and the hollow portion into communication with each other, the hollow portion being structured to allow oil to be fed thereinto. The inner circumferential surface of the hollow portion includes a recessed groove extending along a circumferential direction. The communicating hole opens into the hollow portion at the recessed groove.
