Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive one or more downlink control information (DCI) transmissions including a plurality of transmit power control (TPC) commands. The plurality of TPC commands may relate to an uplink channel transmit power for a plurality of uplink beam-pairs. The wireless communication device may determine the uplink channel transmit power for the plurality of uplink beam-pairs based at least in part on the plurality of TPC commands. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: There is a need to support narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more narrowband TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a bandwidth for narrowband communications. The apparatus may determine a narrowband TDD frame structure for the narrowband communications. In one aspect, the narrowband TDD frame structure may include at least one of two or more contiguous downlink subframes, or one or more flexible subframes that can be configured as either a downlink subframe or an uplink subframe. The apparatus may communicate with a UE using the narrowband TDD frame structure determined for the narrowband communications.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus may receive information associated with a narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications, the narrowband TDD frame structure including a set of contiguous uplink subframes. The apparatus may also determine an orthogonal sequence length associated with a reference signal (RS) based on at least one of a number of uplink subframes or a number of slots in the set of contiguous uplink subframes. In addition, the apparatus may transmit the RS using the determined orthogonal sequence length.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are described. A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a synchronization signal within a synchronization signal (SS) block; receiving at least a portion of a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) of the SS block, the PBCH comprising a self-decodable portion and an outside portion; and decoding the PBCH based at least in part on receiving the self-decodable portion of the PBCH. The synchronization signal has a first bandwidth. The self-decodable portion of the PBCH has a second bandwidth substantially within the first bandwidth. The outside portion having a bandwidth that is outside of the second bandwidth and within a PBCH bandwidth, the PBCH bandwidth being greater than the first bandwidth.

Abstract: Techniques described herein permit a narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) user equipment (UE) to combine narrowband reference signals (NRS) with other signals, which the NB-IoT UE already receives, to improve measurement accuracy. These other signals may require different modifications to be combined with the NRS depending on the type of signal. Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to managing the transmission of uplink beams. For example, a first apparatus may generate a signal for transmission to a second apparatus. Thereafter, the first apparatus may detect a condition associated with transmitting the signal via a first uplink beam at a first transmission power. The condition may include the first uplink beam exceeding a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. Accordingly, the first apparatus may refrain from transmitting the signal via the first uplink beam based on the at least one condition and transmit the signal to the second apparatus using a second uplink beam different from the first uplink beam.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment includes determining an allocation of a set of tones in a symbol for conveying data. The method further includes determining to use m-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) to modulate the data onto a subset of tones of the set of tones. The method further includes modulating the data onto the subset of tones based on a mapping, wherein the mapping maps pairs of data values with a largest Hamming distance from each other to pairs of constellation points with a maximum Euclidean distance from each other.
