    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a periodic reference signal from a base station and may measure the periodic reference signal as part of a beam failure detection (BFD) procedure. To detect a beam failure, the UE may autonomously select a beam failure indicator (BFI) counting scheme from a set of BFI counting schemes and may increment a BFI count in accordance with the selected BFI counting scheme and based on measuring the reference signal. The different BFI counting schemes of the set of BFI counting schemes may feature different techniques or methods for incrementing the BFI count per one or more BFI reports. As such, the UE may selectively choose how to weight different sets of one or more BFI reports in terms of contribution to the BFI count, which may improve BFD detection at the UE.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for communicating a dynamically scheduled transmission that overwrites a transmission in a semi-static scheduling occasion. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a first control message, activating a first semi-static scheduling configuration and a second semi-static scheduling configuration for full duplex communication, wherein: the first semi-static scheduling configuration comprises a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) occasion and the second semi-static scheduling configuration comprises a configured grant (CG) occasion. The method may further include receiving a second control message dynamically scheduling a transmission that overwrites a downlink transmission in the SPS occasion or an uplink transmission in the CG occasion and taking one or more actions to communicate at least the transmission that overwrites the downlink transmission in the SPS occasion or the uplink transmission in the CG occasion.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for applying a mechanism to signals, from different user equipments (UEs), multiplexed for UL transmission, such that the mechanism differentiates one UE's waveform from another UE's, even if the waveforms are on the same time resources. A method that may be performed by a UE includes determining a mechanism to allow the UE to share uplink (UL) resources with at least one other UE for UL transmission, applying the mechanism to at least one of RS symbols or information symbols to be multiplexed using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) before performing a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) for the UL transmission, and outputting a waveform for the UL transmission after performing the DFT and an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT).
