    摘要: A method and system are provided in which DVR viewer metrics are collected and saved in a “Watched Log” database including identifying titles and other features of recorded DVR programs. User viewing metrics on both “per user” and “per show” bases are saved and used to augment existing conflict resolution techniques by removing shows that have been entirely or partially viewed in favor of shows that have not already been viewed. After a DVR user watches a TV show episode, the TV show episode will be added to the Watched Log. Subsequently, before recording a future TV show, the DVR device can verify that the scheduled TV show episode has not already been watched by the user. If the show is in the Watched Log, various rules are used to determine which recording actions to take.

    摘要: A system and method for using Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tags to monitor tire tread wear in vehicles. A Radio Frequency IDentification chip is embedded in a tread of a tire at a radial depth of allowable tire tread wear specified by a manufacturer of the tire. Responsive to embedding the Radio Frequency IDentification chip in the tread, the presence of the Radio Frequency IDentification chip may be detected by polling the Radio Frequency IDentification chip for a signal. If the Radio Frequency IDentification reader fails to detect the signal of the Radio Frequency IDentification chip, a notification that the tire should be replaced is provided.

A set of settings is received for a set of vehicle functions. The set of settings includes a set of thresholds for the set of vehicle functions. A set of sensors are monitored on the vehicle and a signal is received from a sensor within the set of sensors indicating that a condition has occurred. Responsive to receiving the signal, a determination is made as to whether the condition meets or exceeds a threshold within the set of thresholds. Responsive to the condition meeting or exceeding the threshold, a command is sent to a device actuator to automatically perform a function within the set of vehicle functions.

    摘要: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code are provided for real time pricing of items by a customer located in a store. A customer sends a request to price an item using a mobile device to a Web service server. The Web service server identifies the customer's location and queries a set of information sources for prices from several vendors within a selected distance of the customer's location. The Web service server may include price information for items comparable to the item requested by the customer. The Web service server applies competitive rules defined by a vendor to determine pricing for the item from that vendor. The Web service server may also create special price quotes based on the verified location and identity of the customer. The Web service server sends the result to the customer and enables a real time purchase from the result displayed on the mobile device.

An optimal channel is determined for the current geographic location. The optimal channel maximizes communications of the mobile wireless platform based on the radio frequency conditions. The mobile wireless platform transitions channels to the optimal channel in response to determining the optimal channel. One or more wireless devices transition to the optimal channel to communicate with the mobile wireless platform.

    摘要: A system, a method, and a service for cooperative parking between vehicles. A parking vehicle has a transmitter to send a parking signal to parked vehicles in proximity to a parking space. A parked vehicle receives the parking signal, activates one or more position sensors mounted on the parked vehicle, activates its engine or auxiliary motor, disengages any locking mechanism such as brakes or the transmission, and moves itself away from the parking space. Once the parking vehicle has parked successfully or after a predetermined time delay, the parked vehicle may move to a position closer to the parking vehicle but still far enough away to avoid collision as determined by the position sensor and turn off its engine or auxiliary motor and re-engage its locking mechanism. The cooperative parking system may include a switch and a transmitter, either contained within a hand-held programmable device or within the parking vehicle. Preferably, all vehicles have the transmitter and the receiver to activate and respond to parking requests.
