The grid keepers of certain example embodiments may include a shoulder bent into an acute angle and may include one or more stamped features on or proximate to the shoulder for engaging with a punched, hollowed, or otherwise formed feature in an edge seal, along with one or more stamped features on an elongate portion extending from the shoulder for engaging with a grid or muntin. In certain example embodiments, the keeper may be on level with or slightly lower than a primary seal so as to reduce the likelihood of the keeper interfering with the seal.

    摘要: The present invention incorporates at least one thermoplastic or elastomeric polymer in abrasive flow machining media either as the sole or as one of the polymeric constituents. The presence of thermoplastic polymer imparts a greater elastomer characteristic (elasticity, compression resistance, increased relaxation times) as contrasted with traditional media. Enhanced elastomeric characteristics enable more uniform abrasive machining. In a particularly preferred embodiment, silicone- or polyorganosiloxane-based medium contains elastic silicone rubber particles dispersed therethrough to achieve increased relaxation times comparable to those attainable with the inclusion of a thermoplastic polymer.

The improved force module may act as a force limiter to limit movement of a pushrod attached to either an archwire or bow and thereby limit a force generated by a spring attached to the pushrod. The improved force module is designed for use in an orthodontic system which self-adjusts, thus eliminating the need for routine adjustment. Also, the improved force module maintains its shape and strength for several months, may be made from a shape memory polymer, and may contain an embedded reinforcing wire or fiber.

    摘要: A method is provided for conditioning a tubular knitted fabric. The method includes the step of placing on a supported member a tubular knitted fabric formed of yarns, the yarns having fibers of a high cotton content. The layers of the fabric are arranged in overlying layered relation, each layer having an outer surface. The fabric is traversed at a preselected rate while subjecting the outer surfaces of the overlying layers to jets of fluid at pressures of about 40 bar absolute or lower. The fibers forming the overlying layers do not interlock the overlying layers and are separable by subsequent fabric finishing or laundering.

    摘要: An orthodontic appliance includes a pin and a bracket. The pin has first and second portions joined by a bight. The first portion of the pin includes a pair of tie wings. The bracket includes a base with a pair of arms extending therefrom terminating in tie wings. A platform is positioned on the base between the arms. A first slot separates the tie wings. A second slot extends generally perpendicularly to the first slot through both arms and the platform. In use, the base of the bracket is attached to a tooth, an archwire is positioned in the first slot and the second portion of the pin is inserted through the second slot, such that the tie wings are adjacent the first slot. A ligature tie is then positioned about the tie wings to hold the archwire in place. In an alternative embodiment, an extension on the pin is bent about a portion of the bracket to secure the bracket to the archwire. The ligature tie is eliminated.

    摘要: Drawers or briefs made from a knitted tube flattened to provide a front panel and a rear panel with a top waist opening and a pair of bottom leg openings. The front panel has a linear fly opening having a pair of fabric fly flaps coextensive in length with the fly opening. The flaps overlap each other and the front panel on the interior of the garment at one side of the fly opening, providing a triple layer of fabric along the full length of the fly opening. The layers are sewn together by two lines of stitching extending along the tops and bottoms of said flaps, leaving a free edge on each flap remote from said fly opening. The flaps form a transversely open tunnel extending from the fly opening to the free edges of said flaps, and a pocket closed at the fly opening. The method of fashioning the fly opening entails applying a patch to the outside of the knitted tube, cutting through the patch and the tube to form the fly opening and two flaps, and then simultaneously sewing the flaps to the tube along the length of the opening. The flaps are everted through the fly opening and then are sewn to the interior side of the tube to fashion the fly assembly.

    摘要: A suction-actuated control system (10) for a whirlpool bath/spa installation includes a suction-side transducer (52) connected in the suction inlet path and a controller (54). The suction-side transducer (52) transmits an air pulse to the controller (54) when pressure in the suction path drops below a pre-determined value caused, for example, by a full or partial blockage of a suction cover (26) by a wash cloth or an article of clothing. The controller (54) includes an electric switch (62) in circuit with the recirculation pump (34) and a bi-state controller (66) that actuates the electric switch (62) between its ON state and its OFF state. An abnormally low pressure in the suction path to the recirculation pump (34) caused by a full or partial blockage of the suction cover (26) will cause the controller (54) to shut-off the recirculation pump (34). After the obstruction is removed and a short time delay, the user can actuate a user ON/OFF control (56) to restart the pump (34).
